I love these old videos of Keith, with my husband Lou Toomey playing lead guitar. I have the original uncut DVD of this Austin City performance, just a few weeks before Keith's death. Lou was gearing up for another busy year of touring to support Keith in promoting his most successful album to date, when he heard the news on the radio. No one can match his vocals. For the past few years the band guys try to reunite every May to reminisce, catch up, and honor Keith's memory.
A voice that made country music for generations. In my opinion there is no greater guy, he can bend a note from his base notes in his voice he bends his voice like a solo on a guitar... WOW
I had the good luck to see Keith in concert about 6 months before he died. Keith was so kind and polite to his fans and stayed out front signing autographs and taking pictures until all of the fans were done. He was one of the best of the new traditional country singers of the late 80s and early 90s. Look up Davis Daniel and Ken Mellons and see how much their style of music was influenced by Keith.
And people say this is country music. It's not a country song. It's a hard hitting rock song that is rockin' out to the thought of finally getting off fucking work!
