I've lived in Dallas and Lakewood for most of my life and we never refer to this part of Dallas as the "North Side" - North Dallas is more up I-75 near the Galleria... bordering up to Richardson. I know you have to know that. It may have been considered "North Dallas" wayyyyyyyyyy back in the day, but we've grown and North Dallas is a lot further "north" than SMU and Highland Park. Also, I grew up very near White Rock Lake. That is considered East Dallas. Love what you do, just get your areas of Dallas right!
I'm about to cry. I grew up in Dallas and lived all over the place. I've shopped in Snyder Plaza, I partied on Greenville Ave. and in Deep Ellum. It has changed so much. I miss it. 😭
Living here, I totally grew up hearing the story of the Lady of the Lake, love that you included it! And I'm SO glad you went to The Truck Yard - it's the greatest, we hang out there so much!!!! You hit some of the best spots, great episode!
Wow! Memories.... Chiefly of my first MARATHON, the White Rock Lake marathon, December 1978! 70 degrees in December? Windy? Well, it IS Dallas. I kept looking for the H L Hunt home near the lake. You know, the one with the long curved driveway that "I dare you to drive all the way through" during the sixties......... Memories.... Thanks, Mike Mason
At this point, after nearly 20 years, what we should more concerned over what happened after 9/11 using 9/11 as the excuse, Iraq war and losing lots of our rights, etc..
I live in Far North Dallas-Denton County and there is so much to see in Texas. I have been here 13 years. Moved from VA and I just came across your videos and there is so much to see in Texas.
Another great episode.I have Traveled to Dallas many of times and I've never been to any of these places. But I will definitely want to check them out now. 🤠
I just watched your episodes on Ft Worth and Dallas. Are you aware that Ft Worth has a major university like Dallas does. You failed to mention it at all. Your segment on restaurants on Magnolia Ave you never mentioned one of Ft Worth’s best restaurants which is Paris Coffee Shop which has a great history and some of the best food in the city.
We are moving to Dallas from Fl !! Love love Texas , lot of culture and the people super friendly !! miami only have beautiful beaches that’s it , love the beach but it is time to relocate , love your videos !!!!
You should have visited my small town, just south of Dallas; Waxahachie. We have as many restaurants as we have churches, and son, do we have churches.
Lived in Dallas for a year, it was okay but not enough outdoor activities, way too much food and caloric intake, seemed like all people did there was consume food, wasn’t my vibe
So I recently went to this burger house joint and the burgers suck. Sorry these burgers are maybe good for college inexperienced types but for senior folks it pretty bad. It just a tad better than McDonald’s but for the price they charge it’s just not worth it. Go elsewhere!
Totally disagree. And I've eaten all the "great" burgers of Texas. Just depends on what you prefer. I love a thin patty old-school style burger and that's what this is. Those half-pound steak house burgers are good, but not my favorite.
Restaurants in Dallas come and go like the morning dew. And a lot of their clientele is young and ready to eat whatever is placed before them-and equally ready to move on to the next new place. Plus, some of the hangers-on survive on reputations no longer deserved. You need to spend some time in a city to nail down the places worth playing up.
I had the pleasure to serve Governor George W. Bush, Laura and on one occasion his father and mother in the Formal Dining Room at Austin Country Club. They are wonderful people and I cherish those memories when I was working there. Now dealing with Secret Service whether it was for George H. W. Bush or Ladybird - that was an entirely different story.
Yeah nobody in North Dallas wears Cowboy hats lol. There's a lot of money on that side and you just don't see it. Really in Dallas overall. No Cowboys here smh
sorry but the host is not funny by any means and it does hurt the show. the show has enough good elements to be good, doesn't need to have a comedic side to add to it. those side skits was very lame, just stick to the town's features and good.
Wow, actually great to see First Lady..
Great job!

As someone who grew up around 635 and tollway, I've never heard anyone refer to Highland Park or anything south of NWHY as North Dallas.
You are right. I lived in LBJ and Abrams road area, close to Richland College, where North Dallas ends.
Keep Dallas weird
It’s really northeast Dallas but people refer to it according to the neighborhood name.
How do you only have 38k subs! Your content is so professional it's like I'm watching the travel channel! I thought you'd have at least 250k. 👍
We're on PBS and late to the YT game. Help us get there!
It's over 48K now just 3 months later.
More Dallas please
Naaaa, enough of ‘Big Hair City’.
@@cameraman655 Naaaa, more Big Hair Dallas
Hell with Dallas it stinks hints. Dirty Dallas

I grew up near White Rock Lake in Lakewood. I loved visiting the hometown tonight! Thanks, Chet and Daytripper!!
Seen it but watched and enjoyed again. So nice watch it twice
Even us Norwegians remember 9/11.. USA and Norway are so close friends that we could feel the pain
At this point, after nearly 20 years, what we should more concerned over what happened after 9/11 using 9/11 as the excuse, Iraq war and losing lots of our rights, etc..
Keep being awesome. Love your sense of humor amazing.

How is this the north side of Dallas? Otherwise great episode.
Agree. No one in Dallas would ever call SMU area NORTH !!
Enjoy seeing the videos on Texas.

I thought north Dallas was oklahoma city?
Highland Park HS to SMU: Big Flex!!!!
I know we went to the SMU Bush Library but we missed the garden!
I tried burger house yesterday because I was driving by and it was good but nothing too crazy, the seasoning was good though!
Should have gone to Dels Charcoal Burger in Richardson
CHISOS! great taste!
My aunt and I would walk to the Burger House but if I remember correctly at the time it was called Jacks but either way they served great burgers 🍔

Dude?! You went to SMU and didn’t go to Goff’s???? Seriously!?? I haven’t been to Burger house, why would you when you can go to Goff’s!

No Central Market??

I remember bush he was such an awful president
Visited George W Bush museum. I thought it was simply a college library with his name on it. Nope.
It's an epic museum. All presidential libraries are.

Dallas is overcrowded, noisy, polluted, and the second-worst city for traffic fatalities in America. Ft. Worth rules!
