Thanks! The Odyssey is a 2 day competition of 2 person teams....whoever catches the most species in those 2 days wins. Raises money for local causes and it's a ton of fun!
Great video I probably need to tie this fly. I fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass on the fly. What size of hooks and what style of hooks would you recommend for both fish? I know bigger hook for large mouth and smaller for the smallmouth.. I would like the model and brand of hooks you recommend for both fish. Thanks for your videos
Awsome video man! Never really ordered materials online! If I were to order 1 pack or piece of each material needed how many would I be able to tie out if the material?
I decided i’d never tie other fancier flies ever again. Im sticking to wooly bugger variants and bucktail flies from now on and focusing more on fishing.
What a beautiful Fly!
Always a pleasure to see you tying those flies. It's just art.
Thanks!
Wicked looking tie!
Super cool, huh?!?!
Always an awesome tying video!!
Thanks!
Nice fly Brian. Good luck in they Odyssey, whatever that is. It sounds like a contest but I can't find it on the Internet. Keep the good stuff coming.

This fly was my "go to" streamer on the White River after I read Kelly's book in the very early 2000s.
Beautiful tie Brian. What was that wood cylinder you used for packing the head? Looked pretty old school!
I bet this thing tears it up in the Ozarks. Gets me pumped to go!
Tears it up everywhere!
Nicely done with the deer hair. Still working on getting mine to look clean...
That's the beauty of this fly.....you don't want the head too tight and neat, you kind of want it mangled!
Keep on practising and watch Andreas Anderssons deer hair handling👍 @hop2it
@@martinrosenmill3390 Exxxxactly!!
Always great
Great tutorial Brian. What thread were you using? Thanks.
I actually used GSP for the whole fly.
@@flyfishingtheozarks Thought it heavy duty, thanks!
100 or 150? Brian you’re a streamer tying genius. I really like your tutorials:) They are simply amazing!
@@martinrosenmill3390 100d I think. Thanks, really appreciate it!
@@flyfishingtheozarks Im having issues cutting through the deer hair with 100. Despite spinning the thread anti clockwise. Any tips?
Great job. Do you typically fish this with an intermediate or sink tip line?
Definitely!
@@flyfishingtheozarks awesome! Thanks!

Kind of tough to say, but I would guess more than a dozen.
when you got that chenille out i thought you were going to do a complex twist!
Complex Twist would work really well on this fly!
Thanks for the new video, Brian! That spun head is sweet. Mine rarely turn out as nice.
Are you and your son fishing the Odyssey as a team?
Thanks! I am fishing the Odyssey with Justin Spencer again.....we need to keep a good thing going. (by "good thing" I mean a solid tie for 10th place)
Where did you get those razor blades? I've looked at Walmart, Lowes, and Menards, and they don't have them:(
Wal-Mart still carry them but not a very big selection
P.S. they are in with the Shaving razor blades
CVS or Walgreens carry them. Also Amazon.
Yep, all these replies! 🙂

It’s a half hitch tool.
