Nothing like Pam’s stream of consciousness and she often makes me cry laughing. Such sophisticated and intelligent humor with no games, shtick or manufactured persona with vocal tics. THIS one is epic. Oh and did I say I LOVE her approach and style!
I guess I'll be peeling all my old books tonight. I love it when you inspire us with something new. It's like opening Christmas presents.
Those library cards were used in my grade school library in the 80s. The librarian would stamp the return date on that and when the 1 was covered they would flip it. This was the best way to tell if a book was popular.
Same. We went to our little library almost every day. I was in that very same library in my grade school when the Challenger blew up on live tv. They had set it up for us in that library. Most of the kids thought it was a big joke or something that wasn’t real, but I saw the teachers’ faces and knew something was wrong. I moved to NH twenty years ago not realizing that Christa-McAuliffe was from Concord, NH and my son went to fifth grade in the brand new school named after her. I’m sure everyone here remembered the tragedy for many years, but for me, I was so young and grew up on the other side of the US. How the circle turns!
Fun idea… Sunny have a blast with Baxter!
Sweet. I get Pam and coffee this morning. It's a great start to the day. Cheers to all.
Oh it took me 3 times until I got it right. So glad I got to wait and see the little bundle of fur. Love seeing him.
Haha - I love that you totally took one for the team and sniffed the create glue stick for our collective benefit!! Your videos are always such a blast. Thanks for sharing with us!
😂 when Pam said it (gives it that Nature Struggle look!) I Love Pam, my most watched, most beloved RUclips channel is Pam at the Paper Outpost! I like the tape/ book trick, I bet it would look cool to use the page that the text has been partly stripped off of to put a stamp or stencil on , ohh or maybe add ink or paint to the naked strip and use the book page somehow in the journal, or to make Ephemera with. 😊
Tips from the trenches 😁: Ink your edges before adding the "word tape" and the pieces trimmed off work good for clusters and decorated paperclips. I always put it in water so I can rub off any remaining paper so when used, the paper you apply it to doesn't fill it in to make it look like a piece of book page was just taped to the page or item you are decorating. It makes the words pop more. TFS Regards to the menagerie and Papa too. Hope you all have a great day. 🌞
I used to make my own classroom transparencies back in the days of overhead projectors. I used clear Contac paper and did that water soak to get the backing off.
yes!
Can't wait to use this idea on bookmarks!
PS I guess your wrenched back is feeling better--happy to see you ripping that tape with reckless abandon. ☺
I ❤❤❤ this tape idea: a million great uses pop into mind! So clever. 👍 BUT, ledger pages and library cards/pockets are my true heart’s desire.
This is perfect--cleaning out kitchen drawers this morning and discovered three full rolls of packing tape. Thanks, Pam! I've caught the 'everything's a craft supply until proven otherwise' bug.
We are Alaskan fishermen and woman hah I got my hunny to watch you do your stuff hah so cool thank you
Long-time subscriber Pam. LOVE the energy and "abandon" you bring to creating! And, I might add that as a VERY new RUclipsr I especially appreciate what goes into sharing yourself this way! Thank you. It's a gift to the internet! ❤🎁
I love your channel and the paper outpost. I'm sorta starstruck right now. So exciting to see two youtubers I love interacting. Hugs
@@mydirtylittlehands4389 What a sweet thing to say. And to have you here too - is our good fortune! (Ps. love your name! Wish it were mine)
@@sparkbirdstudios I did subscribe to you SparkBird and love learning new things. Pam taught me all about junk journaling and I’m still learning! Thanks for teaching us too!
I’ll have to come over and check you out, SparkBird, as I’ve not seen you before! Pam was my first JJ inspiration, and inspired me to create my own etsy shop for JJ art and other Fiddly Bits. Not yet publishing any videos under our name yet, but will do soon!
@@jenndotson6718 may I check out your etsy shop? I love to support new creaters.
Love you and Sunny!
Kibosh- Brits accent the first syllable, US the last.
Such a fun video..great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
glue curious 🤣🤣🤣 true though
To thread a thready thring through!! 😜👌🏻 You always bring me some giggles when I get to catch up on your videos and I love that!! 💜✨
I grew up hearing ‘kibosch’ (long i and aww for the o) so that’s how I say it. What’s funny is a lot of people I meet have never heard the word and think I’m just making it up in the moment 😂
I love listening to you.
Yeah, they are right, it's kah-BOSH. As a pre-teen back in the '60s, I would do the tape trick with the colorful Sunday funnies and my comic books.
Simple and easy. Thank you very much for your ideas Pam 🌹
If there's one 'thing' my home is full of, it's thingys!! My Mom, bless her, was very fond of a thingy and I've just followed on! You just never know when you may need one!! 😆 Love your videos Pam 💞
Thank you foe this demonstration😍
something new, yeah!
Very Very Cool Pam❤️❤️
Those library cards are from the mid 60's to the early 80's. When the librarian came in to work in the morning, they had to set the current date and the would inserted the card into the machine that the librarian set the current date. Then when you came up with your book and library ID card they inserted your ID card into the machine and it loaded your info (name, address, and date) then they took the card from the book pocket and inserted it into a slot on the front of the machine and it stamped the date on the card. The numbers 1-4 told the librarian to not go to the next section until the previous number section was filled. Then you were responsible for the card as they were then inserted back into the pocket so you could not forget the return date. (I always took it out of the pocket and used it as a bookmark.) 😜😃🔖📘
oh my. before that, the borrows had to fill out the cards with their name and date & then the librarian would stamp the date in!! (boomer here🤍)
Love your ideas for paper play, plus, you are marvelously hilarious! I love your commentary... you make me smile and laugh, and that's a pretty dang good deal! 💐🤗
Wow. So much easier than using water on the back.
Hello and Happy Saturday Pam!
This is so much fun !!!!!
Thank you ❤
My grandparents had a big collection of Reader's Digest books on their back porch room. I always looked forward to diving into them when we visited for vacations. (And my aunt's Mad Magazine pile. 😁)
I love this, something new to try, again. Lol. Thanks Pam
I love the tape trick!
Love craftn with you Pam ❤❤❤
Works wonderfully when burnished with a brayer.
Fun! I'm gonna try it today!
Love your ideas!!!
My favorite rule of junk journaling is that there are no rules! Lol
Thanks for another great idea. Loved the bookmark. Sunshine sure was in a hurry to get back to Baxter...Enjoy your day🐕
What a great idea, 👍 Thank you 😊 great video.
The clear packing tape with the print on it would make great pockets too Pam x
Hahahaha!! Sunny cracked me up!! 😂
Pam, thanks for this fun and super easy idea.
I was able to tape right along with you. I found a Trader Joe’s paper bag with great graphics and taped it with awesome results luv this!
What!!!!!! I never thought of that. You are amazing
Very cool ...transfer technique!
I have been lost in the diamond painting world for a few months and this video is the reason I still love junk journaling SSOOOOOO MUCH!! Pam, thank you for the smiles this morning and the great ideas! I recently bought a fountain pen to 'improve' my handwriting and this is a great way to add some cool text to my journal. And Sunny - sure have missed him and his smile! Love to both of you, missed you but am back!!!
This is a really fun project
I love this idea. So cool. Thanks Pam
Good morning Pam! 💕 ☕️☕️ and Pam, yes ma’am! Always enjoy and learn from your videos. 👍 We may actually see the sun today. I must take a few minutes away from the craft room to go out and soak up some Vitamin D. ☀️ Happy Saturday to all the Outpost gang! Go forth and be crafty and happy. ❤
We had snow today, (ten or so inches, 🤮) so no vitamin D for me… 😂
You sound so happy and exited its great to watch and hear you. Thank you for the inspiration ❤️
Cool ❤ Thank you for sharing Heck with cleaning today I’m going play Huggs
Another cool idea to create with! Thanks for all your fun ideas! Love to you and all our crafty friends! Sunny have fun with Baxter! Hugs❤
I believe Ellis Hitchner was born 1905 in New Jersey and died in Asheville, NC in 1975. His wife was Edna. He worked in a dairy.
Thanks Pam, on to reckless abandon this week-end in my craft room.
Hi Pam, I'm new to junk journaling having been a mixed media artist for years I have collected LOTS of stuff. I tried this tape trick on some book marks. It's pretty cool! They look laminated. One of the sheets I used was an old fragile page from a Bible. When I pressed and then lifted the tape it brought up the whole paper and didn't separate the text from paper fibers. So...I ran it under the faucet to get it wet, let it sit for a minute and rubbed off the paper fibers with a paper towel. This worked very well. I could remove as much of the fiber as I wanted for transpareny and it left the text intact. Just an FYI if you ever encounter this problem.
G’morning Pam n Fam!
🤔 I think I’ll try that , and ink up the papery side of the tape and see what happens 😀
Hi and THX, Pam! Really cool idea and totally unique. Ok well since I absolutely adore you (and Sunshine too 😊) I am giving you total credit for this junk journal designing idea, because even if someone else (on RUclips or somewhere else) came up w this, your video is my favorite.
Good morning, Pam 🖐️ Thank you for this quick and easy technique! So many uses!
Love this idea.
Hi sis , another great idea , Ur back must be so much better that makes me happy

Good morning Batman!! 🥰🤗
@@michellejanossy4125 hi there sweet friend , happy weekend to ya all Robyn

Awesome...looking forward to trying this in the morning....wellllll after I sleep
Love your words! Chubarooni 😂also? Great technique. Thank you 🙏
What a great idea for ephemera Pam!!
In my school library, when they used this style in books, it served the same purpose as the lined ones (to keep the return dates in order), except this style always allows the current due date to be visible from the top of the pocket. Once quad 1 was full, it could be flipped and the quad 2 would be at the top and ready to be stamped.
Enjoyed the video!
A pile of scrap, did you say? That's not bad😁. I love this idea - you have the text tape and the interesting pages with sporadic text, both great for creating. Thank you again for another innovative idea, Pam!
As always pam u give us the most cool ideas!!!:)
I love this idea!
Oh my gosh! Sunshine didn't have the time of day for us! 😆😆😆 He really likes this Baxter character! Glad he has a playmate.
Brilliant! Hello Sunny. Your soooo cute.
awesomeness!!!
Thanks, Pam-I get glue-curious and also ink-curious. It’s an adventure!
Beautiful
Not Gone With the Wind 😱🫣🫣😱🫣🫣
Hahaha, I have a copy of Shakespeare’s complete works from 1934 ready to go. (I also have two other copies for reading, one is a Norton anthology. ❤😂 I bought the ‘34 version strictly for JJ art.)
@@jenndotson6718 I don't really have emotional attachment to Shakespeare lol. Gone With the Wind is a personal favorite and from how she worded it, this was an original as she said "the 50s or whenever it first came out" (the movie released in the 30s so not the 50s lol).
It was just a personal cringe due to attachment. I don't have a deep attachment to most books though. It's still a neat technique 🤷

I agree…it made me cringe. 😢😢
I absolutely loved this trick. I have never seen this. Oboy is my sat. going to be fun. thanks for the wonderful idea. hugs to you and Sunbun xxxxxx
Wonder about using a brayer to get more pressure on the tape? Love this idea. Thank you!
My little playdoh wooden roller from our playdoh kit!!!!! Or, the big rolling pin from baking!! Thank you (-:
I’m soooo behind on videos! I can’t wait to try this tape trick. And I love your new pic for ur videos. Very beautiful! 😘
Thank you for these ideas! 😅
Besides book pages, you can also use magazine pages, flyers, and junk mail! Some magazine and flyer pages are so thin the whole page sticks to the tape, not just the print surface, so experiment and see what effects you like. If the paper is too thin, just use it as usual without the tape.🙂
You can also after you’re done ripping the tape off the page, you can soak the tape in water, and it will turn into a sticker. Like the text will transfer onto the tape and turn into a sticker.
I've seen a few videos on this trick but you offered tips I haven't heard yet. Thank you pam
Glue envy! LOL
I'm so hooked on your videos!!
Oh I've always wanted to try this. Excellent idea!! 💓
Great idea! Thank you.
Really neat idea....and, you have the BEST stencils...loved the junk journal design, you put together for us....just lovely.😃
Thank you for the great idea! Tape and I don't play well together but I'm going to give it a try because it looks like so much fun and very useful. ☺🐝🌽👨👩👦👦
Fantastic idea. I’m going to make a card today using this. Thanks Pam.
So darn cool!!! Definitely going to try!
Coole Idee - Danke 🥰
Love this idea! I used sandpaper to remove the shine.
I just tried this tape technique with Scotch brand matte finish magic tape, 3/4" wide, and there's no shine. I hope they have the tape in wider sizes. Lots of ways to use this idea, TFS Pam!
Thank you for this tip! I like this technique except the shiny aspect so problem solved! Enjoy your day..❤
You can also sand the surface of your packing tape with “old friend sanding block” lol, at least the fine version. ❤
I said to myself, oh nope never seen the tape trick... now I have 20 pieces of paper taped! Love it! TY for sharing!
Cool
Great idea! Love, love, love the bookmark!
Love this idea! You come up with such inventive ideas.
I'm going to try this
Homemade washi tape! Im going to try to lift photos bt putting two pieces of tape side by side.
I see a lot of taping and pulling going on here today....Thanks for the idea, Pam
Loved this idea, gonna try it. thanks.
