I first. met Sydney back in the early fifties, when working with Robert Wilson and Will Starr in the original White Heather show. Syd was billed as the Tartan Rocker. Great entertainer.
Going a run in the car with my mum n dad,Sydney was always in the glove box,Crying Time,2 Little Orphans,Old Shep,Corrine,Long Black Limousine,Fraulein,to name a few, Rest Easy Sydney thank you for the music, gone but never ever forgotten
He was a great singer, what a career the man had, a Scottish legend I've still got some of his old albums it's hard to take that he passed away, his family must be proud of him. We grew up with Sydney in the 70s. RIP syd.
Excellent, The man was a gent and lots of fun😢see you soon And You Did Hit The Big Time just by being you . Party with my parents they will be 1st row ❤❤
He was the house wife's favourite back in the 80's on Radio Clyde. Remember listening to him while cutting grass in my aunt Maxwell's garden in Kilcreggan circa 1980.
Tell you something, Syd must've been very proud to have had a band of this calibre. These guys are the real deal. As a young boy i watched this video all the time with my gran. She just adored Sydney. I was brought up on Sydney. I loved his early Emerald Gem records. May the bird of paradise fly up your nose was my favourite. I'm gutted he's gone.....
They truly were..I was support act for Syd..and the band were excellent...we only rehearsed for around 25 mins...john was an ace drummer!..and the best bv's
I remember seeing Sydney in Carlisle mid 70s till 2019 in Langholm and got some pictures with him and sad at his passing and at the pavilion his show was amazing as he had time for everyone god bless him. R,I,P Sydney
I had the great pleasure of having Sydneys band Legend back me when I was on the cabaret circuit over the years. Great band and great to see the late performer in action again. R.I.P my friend.
When I was younger I always thought that Sydney sounded so American but having been away from Scotland for 28 years now I hear that he sounds as Scottish as The Proclaimers. Whilst I enjoy the odd C&W and Bluegrass I was never really into his music - honestly I thought it was pish. But ma wee gran in Hamilton now passed, loved him and my parents live round the corner from him. He certainly made money - good luck to him and God bless his family. Loved seeing the oldies in the crowd - makes me think of home and brings up many emotions.
Scottish best hi svearly years was best when no one knew him I got 27 of his Los 9cds 14 tapes now 8 listen to Ollie Austin English best he like Sydney wasent big but they bother made it matter
Any chance you could upload the Sidney Devine Line Dance Party 2. Have got the VHS Video, but cant watch anymore as video no longer works and this isnt available on DVD unfortunately.
