I think you are right & what I thought before the election seems to be coming true. I thought Starmer was making a deal/promise with the leaders of a certain demographic for votes, remember AR having talks with those leaders. We Brits seem to be feeling the consequences of that now. 🙏🕊️

Interesting thought as Scotland and Wales have in my view been misgoverned locally until recently and we have yet to see if recent events make a difference. Northern Ireland in many ways is still in the EU. There's a lot more that's not being reported even by critics of the present Government actions for fear of being silenced or even prosecuted I feel.

That old chestnut of a quote from a long dead Greek could well be used today, in looking at our "leaders" and our police force - " The society that separates it's scholars from it's warriors will have it's thinking done by cowards and it's fighting done by fools". We seem to see the outworkings of that principle on a daily basis - a society which is not only historically illiterate but factually ignorant and cowardly. We have lots of PPE degrees in our senior police officers and establishment politicians but absolutely no one who could "run a booze up in a brewery". Since we seem to have developed a "UniParty" approach to political discourse, rather than the old partisan "Blue" v "Red" of Tory and Labour. we ought instead to have "Yellow" covering them all.
