I saw Uriah Heep back in 1974 and again in 1975 when I was in the service in Germany. My hair still stands on end when I hear their music, so many good memories.
I've got to say Uriah Heep has been one of my favorite bands since the early 70's. From the original (famous lineup) Kerslake, Byron, Thane, Box, Hensley, to the new lineup, they have been true to their roots and other than a very few bands, have been performing for over 40 years. Truly amazing.
my first concert, in '75 was Manfred Mann, Lynyrd Skynrd and Uriah Heep headlining.. awesome show for 3.75 a ticket at the santa clara county fairgrounds!
I can proudly say I was there! What a beautiful night that was, well worth the trip all the way from Italy, where I live. I had my short moment of glory at 00:17 (I'm the one doing the "V" sign). Just a fraction of a second, but it's good to be on a Heep official video release! :D
Kerslake: most underrated rock drummer. Awesome drummer - and great singer too. Even here, his best is punishingly rhythmic yet musical (intricate/almost delicate) - where most "punishingly rhythmic" drummers have little musicality to their playing.
Saw these guys in 2011 in Ridgefield, Ct. with my wifes' sister, cuz she's the only other Heep fan I know and she was on stage for Easy Livin'. They still got it!!! Fuckin' awesome show!!!!
This is good, but check the post "Uriah Heep David Byron" with Byron doing the Stealin' vocals live from a 1974 concert in England. I saw Heep perform that same year in Florida, they opened with Stealin' and fog on the stage, it was great!
This song was always my favorite, and you're right, that's the lineup that absolutely kicked ass. Lee Kerslake just can't let go of Heep and tries to keep it alive no matter what. But the old Heep are gone, gone, gone.....
While he's not playing a B-3, the keyboard still sounds pretty close to that of a B-3. Must be through a Leslie - or a spectacularly good Leslie emulator.
Actually, Lee Kerslake wasn't on the very first Heep album, I don't think. He came on for Salsbury (2nd album) or "Look at yourself" which was the third. Mick Box (guitar) is the only original member left. I believe Lee had to retire due to health problems.
@Freyja1133 Bernie has hit numerous high notes during his time in the band. I saw them live in May and he hit some great ones. Not to mention, nailing all the harmonies. I do see where you're coming from, but I don't think high notes make the singer. Bernie sings with great tone and conviction and is versatile enough to fit many moods. As much as I loved Byron, I think Bernie would be my favourite Heep vocalist.
Lost interest in Uriah Heep after David Byron's departure...... for me they just weren't the same anymore.... that's not to say that other fans shouldn't like them without Byron though....
I have no problem with groups continuing on but geez man, don't be doing a David Byron song with a different singer. David Lee Roth never sings a Sammy Hagar song and vice versa. With no Ken Hensley and no David Byron, it AIN'T Uriah Heep.

One of the most gifted bands ever! Not enough recognition given to them!
I had no clue these live videos even existed of this song!! Looked but couldn't find. One of favorite songs ever ❤

Absolutely, that's Lee Kerslake himself.

Wore out several 8 tracks of this in the 70s. Loud, with the windows down.
All you Heepsters out there...all i can say is "You Cant Keep A Good Band Down"

Marc Sainte-Marie blow
I think Bernie is awesome
grandi grandi grandi.......
Nothing quite like it anymore!
Lee Kerslake is the name of the drummer.
I couldn't say it better !! Bernie is Great !!!
Lost interest in Uriah Heep after David Byron's departure...... for me they just weren't the same anymore.... that's not to say that other fans shouldn't like them without Byron though....
I don't understand why didn't this band became famous?
deadnightwarrior...I see you!! :)
Before the second hand smoke nazis took over there used to be flash pots at 1:59. It was good for some chills.
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Starbreaker well said.....I loved the original lineup but bernie kicks it as well
I think this song kicks ASS no matter who does vocals!
Guitarist looks like pete Townsend here.
Great stuff.
PARTY
here's another band that got lost on all these pop crap...they should be on the hall of fame
Sounds like another adventure till from my own life i ponder if i wrote it?
classic...
Is it Lee on the drums?
Is Kerslake still alive?
Ахуэть!¡!
'Gypsy' was also great but 'stealing' was rougher and great played live! Stealing when I was should I've been buying!!! You must dare to sing this!!
@IndyCarFan68
Lee's health sucks and has quit the band.
cool
to me it isn't the same without the original singer.its a whole new band and sound.
that's not Uriah Heep. David Byron was and will always be the voice of Uriah Heep.
92bluestrat eat
Byron screwed around too much in concert. He could be damn annoying.
jeez what happen to these dudes ..no fire in their heart.just redundent..............
pathetic without byron, thain
