This is a great series of videos and if you get other chances to participate in pro training, please do as many of these that you can. It's fascinating. I mentioned before that she seems to have a hitch in her forehand but after reviewing Sonay's forehand technique again, I think that she uses a double-take back. That is, her first take is the standard half-loop used in the ATP but after the drop, she pulls the racket directly back another foot. This is very unconventional as most other players will just start the forward swing after the drop. In reality, I fail to see any advantage in the doing the half-loop if she is going to pull back more. She loses all advantage of gravity. She could just pull back directly and save herself the time it takes to do the loop. Or she could just do a full WTA loop to produce more power. These small details in technique can lead to a larger competitive disadvantage. Although she has a great forehand, it could be even better.
If you check out part one of this series I explain briefly… no, Sonay was playing in the ladies main draw, players and their teams have access to the courts the week before Wimbledon.
I am so impressed by how accurately she placed those volleys 😮
Solid series. More like these when you can mate.
Thanks buddy, I definitely will where possible!
This series was awesome. And Sonay is one hell of a player👍
Great video showing what goes on... and your comments to break it down. 👍
Thanks Richard!
