Very nice country you are riding through there and the bike looks like it is running well. The RPM's seem to be high for the speeds you were going though but that probs what I am use to with my bikes.....awesome to see the country that way man thumbs up.
Great to see you enjoying the AT. Interesting to see the transition for scratcher to adventurer. I search out exactly the same sorts of roads and ride them in exactly the same way.
Wow stunning roads and views buddy, was hoping you'd take some of those tracks off to the side but obviously the vfr 1200 would have had to sit there and wait for you to finish exploring 🤣 How are you finding the high sit up riding position? When I tested the himalayan it was a surprise when I got to the first corner because it felt so high, and the AT is bigger again. 🤣🤣 don't worry, as I was typing that you answered my question about leaning 🤣🤣 Great video mate, superb visuals amd sound quality as always 👏👏
Actually you don't notice how high it is until you jump back on the viffer and can't see above the cars 😂. Don't think Steven would have too chuft if I chucked up some dust but he would nore thsn likely have followed me. Now that would have have been good telly 😂😂
What a great road, I've found many similar just by either following the Sun or heading towards the hills. Glad your gelling with the AT, these bikes are just so different to the more sports orientated ones, fun in a different way. I feel sorry for Steven following you in his precious VFR 1200, must have seemed like off roading to him. I'm finding the exact opposite to you, the KTM seems to handle corners better than my FZ1-S or the ZZR. Perhaps it's the saddle bag petrol tank keeping weight low, combined with wider flatter bars, it's just so much fun in the Twisties. Mark's heading to Perth soon, going to try out all three bikes, that should be a fun weekend 👍😀

It’s an absolutely gorgeous bike. It definitely floats over the bumps. 😂 Gears Sound complicated but you make it look easy Fun bike all round. You Definitely need to take it into fields etc. See what it can really do. 🏴🏍
Yeh gears are easy I'm just shit at explaining it 😂. You know first hand how smooth it is over thr bumps... Fields and dirt on my list at some point.. Maybe in Skye 😂😂
Great video. I need to get down and check out that Dalmellington to Straiton road. The road to New Cumnock I know very well. You can go left before you did and take the road over the old open cast. It's high with good views. (Maybe an idea to blur out your speedo at certain points 😉) I fancy a AT but at a 29 inch inside leg it may be too tall for me. 👍 Cheers
I'll definitely be exploring the area on thr AT. You might be OK with the lower seat in the low position.. Ayrshire Vlogster is 30 leg and can ball foot in the low position with standard seat.. there are ways if you really want one. Thanks bud 👍
That’s another road I haven’t been on think I need to start wandering about more, I own a Volkswagen with the dsg gearbox which has the same sort of setup as the dct so i find the gearbox very interesting and curious to see how you use it 👍👍
Hi. I have read and heard a few times that the DCT is intuitive in that it will learn from your riding style and then map the gear changes accordingly. Not sure how true that is but it would not surprise me.
Looks like you're enjoying that bike so far mate. I had a BMW F800GS a few years back and I found the front suspension really dived down under braking. The 1200GS doesn't suffer that cos of the telelever suspension. Has the AT got suspension assist like the KTM or does it dive on hard breaking? Looking forward to seeing some off road stuff, must be spoilt for choice up there. Ride safe mate 👍
Hey buddy. Yes it is a big comfy bike and I've not had it dive that much as yet but it does dive unlike the beemer. Hopefully get some offloading at some point.
You need to learn to trust the electronic wizardry mate, but sounds like your still on the fence a wee bit! 😉👍 Next time get that VFR1200 on film aswell, infact have you tried 1 before? 🤔
@@Lochwood92 Let's just ask yourself a hypothetical question...Say you were going away for a couple of days soon & didn't have to carry a tent etc...Would you take the AT or your lovely VFR? 🤔😋

Thats one gorgeous bike, looks a lovely ride buddy. Definitely a keeper, if i was longer in the leg it would have been the one for me actually looked at one of these before the gtr
I can tip the tractor into corners and give sports bikes a rin for there money no problem.. just takes a bit of time getting used to an adventure bike.. As for the dct ill take the tractors gear shift assist over that any day.. I think you need a tractor lol
I did think that but mine don't do that. thinking it might have been a feature on the newer models. Haven't looked into it tbh. Mine was registered October 2020
Good wee run that night. I do like the new bike looks smart. Get out again soon pal.

It does feel that way but I think its more us tapping ito thr DCT subconsciously and learning from it.

Don't the Africa Twin have a lean angle sensing IMU which helps the bike to select the appropriate gear while leaning over?
