    That feature on the TF4060 is an amazing option. I updated the firmware on my card in the A4K in the networked up workshop using putty and ssh from my PC.👍

    Story how this was fixed:
    My friend here in Sweden lend me an A3000T. I connected it to my network, added a VGA->HDMI adapter. using a BliKVM (to remote control PCs most servers remotly. where you remote a machine with mouse/keyboard etc) and using RiskyKVM USB keyboard-> mouse adapter. and then Terriblefire remoted to me from Scotland. and fixed it remotly..

    Thanks for the tutorial Dr Chris 👍🏻 Unfortunately this sort of thing puts me off from buying the newer stuff 😔 Back in the day with the Phase 5/DCE Cyberstorm, it was just a case of download a file onto floppy, boot from it, execute the firmware flash. Job Done. It think a lot of these innovators need to carefully think that not all of us like to tinker and mess just flash a firmware 😳 Cheers 🍻

      that would:
      1. Make the board more expensive
      2. Take longer to develope
      3. NOT update the cpld/fpga code. it would only update the software.. those old cards could only update the software not the hardware (cplds)

      @@ChuckyGangSo be it. But give the end user a choice. Everyone of these great cards has an Achilles heal, which is always how you have to update them. The Apollo Vampire cards just used a USB blaster. Now-a-days you have to buy and solder stuff… Just my 2 cents (Pence) on the subject. Puts off the normal person. Always believe in the K.I.S.S principle. To me, a lot of these new products are too rushed and more time should be spent on them. Even those who spend time building the boards should think about pins for headers etc… Feels like you get short changed. Each to their own.

    • @ChuckyGang
      @ChuckyGang 6 дней назад

      @@cullmaster7361 USB blaster can be used on the TF4060 to change the FPGA. but it also have a CPLD. this IS done by the KISS principle and THAT is why a inplace from amiga-way is not possible. as the very very second you start an upgrade you will halt ANY cpu progress. meaning it is impossible, unless you had a extra cpu somewhere doing the job. people nag about the price already. add yet another 100-200eur for this possability would make people just go bananas..
      pins and headers? for what? upgrading? not needed.. I have shown on my TF1260 flash videos how to do it without those unnecessary headers.

      @@cullmaster7361 also. this pi will in the future be used for more features. not just flashing the firmware..

      @@ChuckyGang I get your point of view from an engineering perspective. But again, all you need to do is give the end-user the options. A card where it’s DIY and cheaper and spend monte monies later or a fully blown card where you can just upgrade it. As the furry Meer cat on the U.K. compare the market AD says “Simples!”. Let the end user decide. As an example of the issues I and others faced with the BFG card. I got so fed up with how it was so flaky with certain setups. A lot of us abandoned it as you then had to mess around with it, soldering this bit, then buying this bit this, then work out how to then flash firmware. If you don’t believe me, check out the Amiga forums. I’m considering buying the Z3360 card. But am happy for the dust settle as much as possible first. Not getting bitten again…. Not here to argue, just putting my case out there. Happy that new innovations are coming out etc..

    And oh when we have a better pi setup I will make it more easy. as the pi will be useful even from the amiga... :)

    Watch out Analogic will charge you VAT when you should not pay it. I just noticed all my orders over the last 4 years included VAT and I live in good old America. I have a mind to email them and tell them to send me an AGA chipset in place of a refund!

      i wouldnt push a 25 more than a 33mhz bump, the 040 runs hot as is, any overclocking would surely bake her.
