Great tutorial... I love this channel already. I have a question 🙋 If you use a different GTM container for website and sub domain, but fire the GA4 ID (for stream) for both website and sub domain would that still have the same track visitors from site to sub domain under the same session ID?
wow! wonderful explanation. Do we need to add same .js code or analytics ID of domain 1 to domain 2 or we can do directly add inside datastreams? kindly clarify
I'm glad you liked it Chris. Overall, I would recommend running GA4 in parallel to Universal Analytics in the same account. The main thing to look out for is any customizations made to Universal Analytics and ensure they're mirrored in GA4 (like cross-domain tracking).
I thought you had to only enter the 2nd domain in the Conditions (the one NOT set as the Stream URL). I see you added both domains there. I've been able to get Events to track and be sourced to "google / cpc" in GA4 but when I import the event to Google Ads, it doesn't count events. Worked on this with Google's tag implementation team and they were unable to figure out why they weren't counting.
Great content as always! I also have a question: if we found our subdomain as referral traffic in GA4, but the session_id stays the same in debug view, do we need to do anything? Thanks! :-)
Hi one more time for today ;) Question: After having configured cross-domain conversion tracking in Google Analytics for two different domains, can I use one and the same property for Google Site Kit for both domains? Thanks.
Hi Benjamin, I really enjoyed this video. I also really liked another of your videos on creating customer audiences. My question is, can audiences be shared across domains?
Hi again. Question: Once two different domains have been configured for cross-domain conversion tracking in Google Analytics, will Google display one and the same site icon / favicon for both websites? Thank you.
Hi Benjamin! Thanks for the video. One question - have you added measurement ID in each websites (domains and subdomain) or not? Are you tracking only cross domain activities or full statistic for each domains and subdomain (sessions, traffic acquisition ect) ?
hey! i have the sane question but i cant find an answer for this. Do you have anny suggestions or personal experience using this cross domain tracking? I need to know if I have to implement the gta site tag to both domains. I hope you understand my question a thank you for any answer.
hi, this is very helpful tutorial. The only question i have is do I need to have the same GTM container installed for both domains? And how can I track cross-domain actions on the websites with different analytics tags installed?
Hi , I am not able to add conditions to GA4 Cross-domain settings and I have admin access. I need to add this by Google Tag Manager if you have any video or document please share.
Hi Benjamin, thank you for your fantastic videos as always! One question regarding this - does the same GA4 tracking ID/data stream need to be implemented in both domains? Or can each domain have its own tracking ID, but still connected via the cross domain tracking method you explain in the video?
Great content here, as usual! I've subscribed to your channel!! Question here-I hope I can explain myself clear enough, so you can answer based on your great expertise 🙌 I want to track users that registered on a 3rd party landing page from Mailchimp. This page gives me the ability to include those users on my EDM list, and auto-tag those users. The downside is that I can't include a pixel on that Landing Page, so when it comes to GA, I end up having registrations from MC, but can't track previous steps of the funnel because of that reason. This is how it is currently structured: 1.My domain 2.Link to Mailchimp registration page 3. User gets into my EDM list. This has been limiting myself to track users down the funnel for a while If this is not a proper way to do it, how would you set it up? Thanks a lot!
Hi - how can i add cross domain tracking to purchase? I have sale page in domain X and payment page in domain Y . how can i tell analytics 4 to add it as a conversion of purchase?
wow, thx a lot I love this video ~~~ you save me from this, thx. And I found a big problem in GA4, when I saw the GA4 demo account (Merchandise Store) I see the conversion > purchase report,I found that the source, is all "shop.googlemerchandisestore.com" !!! why the source is all self-domain ??? That is so weird,do you notice that ?? thx.
I have two distinct measurement IDs: one for website A and another for website B. Is it ok to implement the website A measurement ID on website B, while keeping the website B measurement ID? Furthermore, will website B be able to access my Google Analytics insights? It's important to note that website B is one of my partner websites and not owned by me. Also, how to segment the reports/views in Google Analytics to ensure that the insights are not commingled?
excellent explanation! I will be very attentive the day I upload more configuration videos with GA4!

The title says subdomains as well but you showed only cross-domains. If I have 30 sub-domains how to add them into a parent property? Thx
Hi - For cross domain tracking, do they have to have the same GA4 ID?
Thank you for this video. Do you have any videos on the pros and cons of tracking both UA and GA4 within the same property?

I have the same doubt
@@martinkmet147 I would assume that you would create a separate tag for site B in Google Tag Manager and use same Measurement ID?

Hi, how to set a multicountry directory domain in GA4?
Great video, but how do you establish views for each of the domains? Do you also use the full domain filter you would use in ga3?
Great content mate, thx for the tips!
Well explained, very informative video. Thx for putting this together!
My pleasure! I'm so glad you liked it!
Well explained and taught! Thanks! :)

The most important step: all domains must use the same measurement ID for it to work.
100%!
