Seeing Lise live in Paris in May was revelatory. Her voice is so much more beautiful in the flesh than on recordings where she can sometimes sound a little harsh. She is definitely THE wagnerian soprano of today. The Siegmund is very impressive too!
Lise filled the room but we heard the tenor well. It should be noted that Lise was very close to the microphone and this fact amplified her already powerful voice even more. Hilley sang the beginning of the piece "Winterstürme wichen dem Wonnemond" on the piano and it can be heard well, right?
