It's not about the skin color, it's the looks and personality. The current Miss Philippines Universe is dark skin, and she beat everyone in the competition. Most "new" foreign men think all Filipinas are beautiful, the same way I thought all white women were beautiful when I first migrated to the USA 40 years ago. I dated every white woman i had a chance to date. But after I got used to seeing and being with them, I realized I was very wrong. BTW, I also had a Mexican and Black girlfriends. So for me as a born and raised Filipino, it is not about the skin color. It's the looks and personality that will attract a man to a local Filipina woman.

it's so focused on appearance. I find all this so self-absorbed. the rest of the world has already opened up to embrace skin tone variances.
we are colored but nor dark as in black. we could be dark brown as in dark chocolate. the complexion of those working in the farm of open field. but we could be bronze brown like brown sugar when the dark hue in our complexion is very light; and we could be fair brown that we are almost whitest because the brown complexion is almost not noticeable.

Philippines. I was born and grew up there in the Philippines. I had dark skin and dark long hair and in high school I have some suitors but not as quite as the girl who has fair skin. So maybe that's why I ended up marrying a foreigner to him I'm beautiful and he didn't mind my dark skin. But I am proud of my dark skin and proud to be filipina. It never bother me if a local filipino guy doesn't want to look at me or waste him time around me. You see to me the true beauty of a filipina are dark skin, the indigenous locals from different provinces. Just look at Pia Wurtzbach our Miss Universe, she might be a mix breed but she's beautiful with that dark skin and she's proud of it. So to all the women who is dark skin stand tall and be proud.

I love all colors of Filipinas, and I make fun of Filipinas who call others Katulong. I call them colonial kiss a☆☆es to their faces! We are Austronesian ,Polynesian, and Pacific South Asian so that's red,brown, and yellow like Halo-Halo! lol
No, love handles is not cute! Beautiful woman is having clear skin, healthy hair, with dimples, having deadly curves but that is only physical. Yes brown skin is not attractive in the Philippines. I become attractive here in the US and lots of my Bosses who liked me. I already married when I arrived here but those men have no chances for me anymore. But when you have confidence of yourself that is a big plus of your appeal.

Very true about natural tanned skin persons,count me in,when im home in the Ph im the only one with dark skin tone among my friends,and I really felt I came from a mountain,but on the other side of my life here in Europe people like my skin color and kids has to bathe under the sun to be like my skin tone (its their color basis) and they will be happier if they went darker and for them they beat me!😂and I told them I was born like this nothing to do 😅

Yes its true skin color is a big deal.Im leaving in Manila naturally ai was born in light skin and then when I went home in the Province they were shocked because Iam whiter than them so they wanted to become white.I said embrace who you are because everyone is beautiful.

Same. I'm light skinned and grew up in metro Manila then moved to the province since 2021 and never left. They think I'm pretty over where I'm at but I think they're as gorgeous in their tan complexion
