Chester Bennington died on my bday and Amy Winehouse was 3 days after. July is kinda a messed up month for many reasons for me. But anyway you look at this, it's just sad overall. Thank God she had the strength to get her son back on board, and I'm thinking upon turning around and seeing her go under, he cried himself to sleep, and that's how he was found. The whole thing is strange. Why was she even out there alone w a 4 year old? We have a boat and I also have a 3 year old son. I would never in a million years take him out by myself. I always heard of the show "glee" when I was younger and it always seemed to be that show that many people watched. Although I didn't watch it, it was everywhere, from glee lunch boxes in Kindergarten to adverts in the past few years, Naya always seemed to be the one who stood out. RIP, hope her son will be okay.

She was like one of the best characters on glee and now she’s gone.. I honesty couldn’t even believe it when i first read it , I kept thinking “This better be a joke”. When I find out it wasn’t my heart sunk. Rip to my favorite character and best mother 😔💔.

I just want to say that I've grown up watching her, music videos and her being on tv shows that I loved. And when Glee hit, she and Amber Riley had me hooked, awestruck, inspired. As a woman of color who was is only a few years younger(I'm 29) than they I loved watched their confidence and talent. She inspired a generation in a way that I hope she knew a fragment of. I even gave Step Up (who's movies I never really took an interest in) and was impressed. I've been a fan of hers even as a little kid. I'm from Tennessee and even went to several Vols games her brother played in and was shook when I realized who he was lol. Takes a special person to inspire a generation the way she has. And even though I wished for a better outcome, I know she can now be laid to rest and watch over her son, family, and get a glimpse of the impact she left on her family.
Prayers to her parents George and Yolanda, her brother Mychal and his small children, her sister Nikayla and extra hugs and kisses to Josey. I hope everyone that loves him will make sure she lives on in him, remind him of how much she loved him, and surround him with everything he needs. So many milestones of his that this tragic event prevents her from seeing.

I don’t know a single woman who even knows how to operate a boat, but even if she did, why would she take her 4 year old, alone, to such a dangerous place to swim? That place has drownings ALL the time because of the current. I would never take, or even want to take, my little boy(he’s 3), out on a boat by myself. Anytime there’s water involved you should have 2 adults just for safety reasons, but it would also be a huge pain in the ass to have to operate the boat and take care of a small child. Something seems off.
