In this video I complete the "Time Lock" Mutation Mission in StarCraft 2 on the Brutal difficulty with arguably speaking one of the worst commanders for the mission... Known as Alarak, the Tal'darim Highlord.
Time is not on your side. Amon's forces are moving fast, and the battlefield is full of treacherous challenges to slow you down. You'll need to act with both speed and caution in order to win.
Time Warp: Enemy Time Warps are periodically deployed throughout the map.
Speed Freaks: Enemy units have double their normal movement speed.
Mag-nificent: Mag Mines are deployed throughout the map at the start of the mission.

You should start sacrificing supplicants to ascendants as soon as the ascendants are out, even if they dont need the energy. It takes a minimum of 10 minutes to get an ascendant to level 10 from the time the ascendant is warped in. A level 1 ascendant is fragile and weak. A level 10 ascendant is as tough as 3 archons.
A lot of streamers I see complain about their allies playing on a potato, but it seems that for most people regardless of PC, the first co-op game loads very slowly for some reason.
- It's probably better at the very start to use your worker to trigger all of the mag mines all around the expansion area. That way you have a very big space to operate.
- If you repeatedly click the red gem on Alarak's top bar, you'll hear a series of easter eggs.
- For Alarak, just 6-8 gateways is enough, depending on how well you macro. You can probably make 6 work.
- Ascendants can kill cloaked units without detection. They just need to spam psionic orb in the right direction.
- There's a cloaking upgrade in the Cybernetics Core for your Havoc. I normally get that early on.
- Mind Blast is very strong, but for large groups of small units, psionic orb is more effective.
oh, I thought I'm the only one having that loading problem and blamed my potato HDD; I don't understand why the first game takes so long to load
Sebastian Sandu Probably loading all the assets ie : Mag mines and the modified units.
That's due to 1.5 core usage in SC2 and unpacking assets archives when you first load map(much more assets in coop). Leave only 2 of your CPU cores(physical or logical) running and try to load for exemple new tomb raider benchmark, it will take half a year regardless of your ssd speeds.

Lowko!! Ascendant sacrifice is auto cast but you really need to activate it to buff ascendants optimally

That moment when you lose 20 Goliaths to a single mine triggered by a random Zergling rallied across the map, and just switch into full Hellbats because I'm too done with this.
Shiny goliaths are cheap, losing 6 carriers to 1 mine. Now that was expensive
Mag mines don't deal enough damage to 1 shot carriers. If you get hit by one, it's no problem.
Swann however, loses everything that isn't a Thor or Hercules.
His Science Vessels are also really slow, so they usually lag behind his army, ready to get blasted by whatever mine just triggered.
Also, interceptors usually take the mine hit.

I did it as my being abathur and my random partner being alarak on brutal so anything is possible 😂
I like that you grouped up with a random player. Please do more mutation missions like that. Grouping up with an expert should only be the second choice if the mission is too hard with an amateur! It's just what most of us players are up to as well.
I more enjoy Lowko does random queue too.

I think he might not have known which direction they were in.
i dont play ascendants that often, and i play alarak all the time. I mostly just run an army of supplicants and then a bunch of mechs behind him and that wins any brutal matchup. Alarak is so useful in wiping out armies cause he keeps the enemy pinned down with his knockback ability and can tank hits for eternity with enough supplicants so your army is very rarely overwhelmed.
4 and 1/2 minutes for your opponent to start the game....gotta love that McDonalds Wi-Fi lol!

Lowko, consider going shield upgrade rather than armor upgrade when going Ascendants. Supplicants have more shield than HP, and +3 shield upgrade applied on the 1000 hp shield on Ascendants makes sure that they never die.
I love how half the time you had way more ascendants than anything else
It's more fun to watch Lowko play with randoms. When he plays with Shisui it's kind of predictable that he's going to win, even when he doesn't play that well(no offense Lowko =P). With random queued allies, you have to try extra hard sometimes.

Lowko you can blast those banshees without detection with alarak. Just use alarak's destruction wave on them and you'll be just fine.
Played it with mass carrier Fenix... looked at teammates natural to help, looked back and realised i got nothing to help with.. :D Keep up the awsum content ^.^

11:20 Lowko, you have huge AoE spells with Alarak and the ascendants, you don't need to see the cloaked units to kill them. That's why cloaking is for the weak.
Yea that killed me whenever he kept saying he needed detection too.

Alarak-Artanis could be intersting here... But Artanis is nearly always the best caddy for Alarak.
I finish this week mutation with my Karax and my random partner as Stukov.
The method is stukov sending free army to clear mine and Karax send Probe to build a defensive at lock point. If the defensive can't hold the Amon's army, just shoot the beam at it or Stukov infest the cannon for healing and hold enemy.

Kerrigan is good. Her Nydus Network do a lot of work. And the zerglings can be use to clear out the mines.
That Raynor had one job and did a very bad job at it. Against that composition, 10 Vultures would have defended every single lock on their own, allowing for continuous pushing, but the right side was consistently poorly-defended. He didn't even need to rush Vultures that early, either; calldowns can take attacks on their own until the second double wave, which is at like 12 minutes. And instead of massing Vikings, going bio would have aided a lot more in pushing enemy fortifications. A lot of room for improvement, considering Raynor is fully-capable of doing this map by himself.
Why dont you say anything about how terribly Lowko playing Alarak?
LilArrin is Jim Raynor specialist, not Alarak expert! So he does what he is best at!

never really had much of a problem with this one as Karax. I don't remember who I was with but...well, Unity barrier was a niiiiiice failsafe for triggering mines
Wish you could play the Tal'darim as an actual faction in the game, with a full army and everything.
So, I played stukov and my random ladder partner played dehaka. It worked rather well. My army was being lost but who cared, but then dehaka tanked hits like a boss.
I wish you played this with Nova

A mutation that stukov would not he good at I think is a mutation where enemy units have shields based around how many hits they take.
I'm a simple man, when I see Alarak being used I press the Like button.

My country does not have Halloween. But from what I learned and understand when I was a kid, I thought you're suppose to pretend to be something scary? A ghost, werewolf or stuff like those. How come nowadays it sorta becomes superheros, nurse, or whatever?
You didn't sacrifice enough supplicants early on you want them to get max hp really fast so they have like 1k hp and massive bonus dmg

Lowko, do you realize that Alark should both TANK all incoming damage and DEAL the most of it? Just because he can heal through the most of it by killing units, and in some cases sacrifice 1 or 2 supplicant, which is perfectly fine? Also supplicants damage is laughable.
And do you realize that ascendants - aint only one to play Alarak? I prefer to have 4-6 wraithwalkers, same amount of immortals, the rest are slayers and supplicants, and still i have about 50-60k damage with Alarak.

Why in gods name did you put points into alaraks attack damage over combat attack speed?
TheSlick44y because alarak attack damage is much better since alarak's doesn't have a good anti air unit
the supplicants and ascendants don't really do much damage with their attacks, the main source of damage is alarak himself and ascendant abilities. so much so that I usually forego attack upgrades and just get shield upgrades.
TheSlick44y Because he is only using supplicants and acesdants who don't have the greatest basic attack damage. If he will have play immortal or Collossus with some stalkers speed bonus will have been better.
