  • The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) in partnership with the Scottish Government, hosted a webinar exploring Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). This is a full recording.
Changes in your body’s hormone levels before your period can cause physical and emotional changes. This is often known as Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). There are many possible symptoms of PMS, but typical symptoms can include mood swings, feeling down, anxious or irritable, headaches, breast tenderness and tiredness.
This webinar is for anyone who wants to learn about why PMS happens, about common symptoms and how to manage them, particularly the symptoms that can affect mental health.
The recording features presentations from Dr Ellie Golightly, NHS Lothian, and Gill Meens, Mental Health Foundation Scotland.
This video was produced by the ALLIANCE in support of the Scottish Government's Women's Health Plan. This video is part of our ALLIANCE Live series, Women's Health at the Centre.
