My son's encounter was in Charlotte County Fl as well. It occurred 15 years ago, and they are still around. Parents, warn your children same as you would any other predator they might encounter. Because I had told my children that I believe they are real and to not challenge, don't stare into their eyes, to back away and not run etc he was prepared how to behave and it didn't blow his mind. He continues to enjoy all his outdoors activities, camping, mudding etc without fear. Sadly the friend who was with him won't leave the city and refuses to admit it happened. Don't do this to anyone you love, they deserve to know they are out there. They can be anywhere.
I love to hear stories from home! I live just a few miles south from the 207 Kings road siding on the tracks in St Johns county and had my own sighting many years ago One county over in Putnam, I'll have to send it to you sometime.
@@ricg.4435 Awe man! You've got lots going on around you, my goodness! It is absolutely true that I don't hear of many encounters around there on RUclipsville, but having been all around there myself I can tell you that they are for sure around your area. I'm not sure how long you've lived there or how familiar you are with your surroundings, just pull up Google maps on your phone. Everything south of Tallahassee till you hit the Gulf there's nothing but national Forest State Forest wildlife preserve areas etc. South of Tallahassee between Mexico Beach and Perry must have no less than 10 named Forest type areas. If you follow along the Econfina River on 98 there's numerous secluded pull off areas and sitting there makes you wanna
@@ricg.4435 Oops I accidentally pressed the post button lol but when you stopping those pull off its probable you can feel that something's around you for sure. If you're into live music and seafood there's a little shack out there next to Crawfordville I believe and it's called Ouzts Too oyster bar (pronounced oot-zes) and it has the best music and mullet dip money can buy. Take a road trip down there and see what you think about whether or not it's squatchy and get back with me lol. Just because it's not popular per se, surely doesn't mean it isn't active. Once you pull up maps like I said and see how much forested area there actually is, it will put it into better perspective.
@@LaylaLeft . I know that place, I pass it every time I go home to visit family. I am originally from Inverness, Florida or Citrus County, and that's where I had my encounter. And that Oyster Bar is definitely in a squatchy area
I live in collier county, 800 yards from my house my road dead ends, if you walked out in to the woods there you would only cross 1 road before hitting the other coast. They are around, very shy and reclusive creatures. From time to time in the middle of the night you can faintly hear them calling eachouther and communicating. Definitely primate sound much deeper than a howler monkey. One thing they do is band heavy sticks against trees, not sure the reason. I was chopping some fire wood late one night, the impact of the ax echoed real loud. When I took a break I started hearing a very similar sound echoing from the woods about 1/2 mile into the woods. Found large pieces of fallen trees arranged in unnatural ways almost like making a bedding down area but the trunks were way too heave to move- I’m 6’6” and 230 and I could barely get them to budge. Good news is there have been no official attacks so I’m not worried about them
I live in Southwest Florida in the county next to Charlotte County in a very rural area. One of my neighbors who has lived here for 30 years back, when only a few plots of land were sold, told me of his encounter with the swamp ape that he referred to as Sasquatch, and he told me that as long as you don’t threaten it, or it doesn’t perceive you as a bad threatening person it will not bother you. And if it’s any relation to a gorilla, the silverback, gorilla is known to be the strongest creature and it is a vegan animal existing on leafs and plants and the like.
I live in crestview Florida about a hour from destin Florida I grew up there but it's all hotels and beaches I never would think a bigfoot would be there I would think more in my area on the rivers here yellow river and shoal river I'd love to see one I've always known there out there I belive in them forsure!!!!
And if you go back east along the coast that Apalachicola Bay area between you and highway 19 in Perry there's over 10 wildlife Management areas, State Forests, National Forest. Once you get past Mexico Beach going east it's nothing but old-growth timber out there for miles and miles and miles
No no, I meant backwards as in opposite of you. Just our ol southern speak peculiarities. Some find it endearing LOL but I in no way shape or form with putting myself down. I've been so far down in my life that I wouldn't want to put myself there again mentally. I'm all about being a kind human and spreading positivity to the people! This includes myself course, as you got to start somewhere. But I do appreciate your empathy. It's so hard to really judge what people mean via text as compared to getting to see their inflection and gestures and such. I don't think it's a good thing for humanity but it is what it is. Enjoy your day!

Hello all 😂
I have not heard people talk of a clicking sound..I know gorillas can make a clicking noise..
Really? I'm backwards, I didn't know that gorillas could lol. I guess I'd imagine they could, I had just never thought about it.
