In a world where there are a million people doing peripheral reviews, yours really standout. Great job dude. I have been enjoying your content since I found you, I am intrigued by this pad, never seen anyone else even mention it. Been loving my First War ever since it came last week, I have messed with over 50 pads including all the artisans, always cool to see something different! Keep up the good work!
Let's gooo have been waiting for this review, I've ordered one before hand just because of the looks and will be getting mine Tuesday. Now I have something to look forward to! Great review and video
Saw your tweet a while ago about the pad and was waiting for your review before even looking at the pad lol. I also just went back to my Hien recently and it sounds like an upgrade from what you've said. I usually gravitate towards control pads but this just sounds too good to pass up on, and glad to see another Pink chad in the community. Keep up the reviews man, actually insane how well you describe products. 💋💋
Great review as always! Been waiting for more reviews of this one since Qonra's review, where he had more or less a similar experience as you did. I've seen the EBA described having a similar property, but the inverse. It has more dynamic friction at slower speeds but less dynamic friction with bigger swipes. iirc Fresh Reviews mentioned it in his EBA review, and I've seen an r/mousepadreview thread say the same. EDIT: Originally I misremembered the EBA having more control with bigger swipes but the EBA actually has more speed with bigger swipes.
That pad has always sounded interesting so I'll probably try it very soon. I need to pick up the other PuRu+ pads so I should throw in the EBA on the same shipping.
Please keep them coming, love watching your reviews. I was really surprised the XTEN control pad wasn't in your main line up after you spoke so highly of it. Has your opinion changed over time or have you just wanted to switch it up?
I just wanted to switch it up. The XTENControl is still a perfect pad for me, but I've used it a bit too much recently to be a current main. It was so good that it was the only pad I touched for three straight months which I've never done since getting into mousepads. Now I just want some more variety and spice on my main which the WuGi2's more exotic feel is perfect for. The Saturn has mostly replaced the XTen as my go-to control pad recently because it's a similar speed category and I've been appreciating the comfort that the smoother surface offers. I'll go more into how the XTEN fits in for me in the top pads vid I'm making soon.
When you say synthetic fiber I'm not sure what you mean, aren't all fiber pads polyester or nylon? Are there any natural fiber pads? I don't think any are cotton... right?
Uh planning to buy a new mouse pad coming from qck. Uh I want something with less static and dynamic friction, stock feet on viper 8l what you recommend
Have you tried the LGG jupiter by any chance? I haven't tried the saturn because its not available so i got a jupiter instead. I honestly love it so far compared to even my xten and PA. I also ordered the superglides for my g303SE but not sure what to expect! Great review as always, might just have to try it.
This might be the one place where we start to differ in mouse and pad taste. The Jupiter was sent out to me a long time ago but I've been heavily procrastinating putting time on it because my limited experiences have all been terrible. I can see the potential in its performance, but it feels so bad that I don't even want to put time into learning it. It's so sticky and oddly smooth that it's quite off-putting and highly uncomfortable.
@@KraftyCraftKraf hahaha noooo. I honestly figured as much. I only got the Jupiter because I can't get my hands on the saturn. I had no expectations and maybe that's why but for tac shooters (main game I'm playing right now). For valorant it's been oddly great. I can't even explain it. Maybe it's the humidity of where I am because it's not sticky at all but it is oddly smooth. It has like lower static friction than the PA for me while also having more stopping power and being smoother. My copy just happens to work. I just ordered the tiger pad tho soooo haha
I've heard alot of people say the padsmith pad is really good, I've wondered about the Wugi2, I'm currently using the venus and I feel like it hits the control but not speed, it often feels slower than what I want
The Padsmith pad could be a great option if the venus is a little too slow for you. It has an abrasive, hybrid surface like the Venus so it should be pretty familiar, but it has lower friction and is more glidy in comparison so it should get back some of the speed you want. It's still super controllable, too, due to its texture being very tightly packed to help give feedback and add stopping power when combined with the squishy base, so there isn't a huge tradeoff for this extra speed.
Absolutely. It'll feel super fluid to track in a fast paced game with this pad. Its fast enough to not require that much effort to track but still controlled enough to remove some shakiness and add stability to your sprays.
I'll need to pick it up eventually. The pad looks super interesting and high quality, plus I'm already a fan of the skypad so I'm itching to see the comparison. The availability and production seems to be weird right now so I'll probably wait a bit since I don't want to drop a ton of money and not get anything for weeks.
Yeah probably. Stuff like that just feels weird for me so I never want to do it. I’ve only done it once for the early Saturn copy and that felt so presumptuous that I never wanted to try again.
@@KraftyCraftKraf QA gods did not smile upon me. Contacted them and it's a known issue unfortunately. I'm trying a replacement but they are running dry in stock.
Would you say just buying a saturn and forgetting about pads for the time being is an ok decision for someone playing fast and slow paced games at a high level? Also I wholeheartedly agree with faster pads having a higher skill ceiling but i wonder if that mindset will ever come in to play especially considering top professionals just use the g640/gsr's they are sponsored by. Is there gonna be a day where everyone is using a WuGi2 :D
I think that's the best idea. While I do think that its good to experiment with different peripherals and really explore what you personally play best with, switching setups constantly will lead to a lot of inconsistency in your play and be overly distracting since you're focusing on factors outside of the game. If you want results you should just stick with one setup you find that's adequate, forget everything else, then focus the rest of your attention on the game. And the Saturn, in particular, should be a great pad for this because of how flexible and unrestrictive it is, all while still providing enough friction for a sense of control. It's perfectly rounded. As for pros all switching to the WuGi2, that would be really cool but it'd never happen for any non-mainstream pad. The reason so many pros use sponsored pads or very widely available stuff is that it's just what they have tired once and gotten used to. Like I said before, the most important part about a pad choice is getting comfortable enough with the surface to not have to think about using it so what you've always used will usually be the best for you, and these super popular, widely distributed, or sponsor-provided pads are just what they were most likely to get their hands on when starting out.

www.addiceinc.com/collections/mousepad/products/esptiger-wugi-2-mousepad This is the only store page for this pad that I know of. They are a US based company so EU shipping would be insanely expensive.
Ty so much! Unfortunately I wont be able to use it anyways due to its relatively small size. I play on tracking based games on a low sense :( Anyways ty for your effort and keep up the good work :)
Haha I forgot about that. The GPZ1 still feels way closer to what I'd imagine mouse accel in pad form would be like, though. This feels way more consistent and doesn't really feel accelerated in the same way imo.
The quality and depth of your reviews are unmatched, keep the grind, it'll pay off
