My wife doesn't understand why I watch your videos. I say it's because I like them. She doesn't leave the room anymore though so you must be getting soft or she's getting used to it. THEN!!! I start my truck the other day and she says "man this fuckin thing is loyal" So, not only is she not leaving anymore, she's obviously listening. You have a new fan it seems, Peg
Driving old wore out trucks across the country from auction to new owner , I have used either on hundreds maybe thousands of trucks . Never not one time ever had a issue ….
The NH220 Cummins is 743 cubic eagles. The 855 cubes didn’t come around until early 60’s of which a big cam didn’t arrive until 1976. If it was pre 1954 it would have a disc pump instead of PT fuel system.
Lol, we had an old Fordson tractor with excavator attachment that required damn near a whole can of ether every start. Part of my job as a young'in was spraying that in while my Dad cranked on that pile of shit to get it started. Best times ever.
The older diesels may not be as environmentally friendly, but they will start and run when you need them. Surprised about the Series 60 not coming to life. It must have been pretty cold when the big cat don’t want to start. I started a tractor years ago when it was cold, used some either got it running and realized the antifreeze was frozen because the fan was not turning, luckily the belts we loose. After it warmed up a little bit, the fan started turning. Always enjoy the videos. Thanks from Michigan.
I've been watching your videos for a few years now, off and on. I love coming back after a bit and just watching everything you've put out since last time. I'm just over here in Sask. and truly have a good laugh like no other video from the sh*t you say and how relatable it is, brightens my day. I'll finally subscribe, don't know why I didn't before..
Thanks for the memory, standing in an open clear cut, fire under the timber jack skidder, so hung over and still in the cloths i went to the bar in the night before.
Peg, I bought my truck exactly 3 years ago. I hadn't heard of your channel until that day. Love the truck. Love the channel. Not disappointed at all. Fella I bought the ole gal off of shouted you out. And Ive been hard on her. Finally got a liscense to drive her. Woo hoo. Just saying, thanks man.
The amount of diesel how dare yous, is incredible! The guards on the front of those trucks would just wreak havoc on a Honda ridgeline that gets in the way 👍👍
In the Yukon we used to just park our trucks over a diesel fire pot and go to bed they would fire right up in the morning as long as they weren’t on fire, if they were that meant it was a whiskey day not a beer day
Listen. One of my guys blew up my durascrap with ether. Only half a myth. Theses guys were really really really really really really really really really really really REALLY stunned. Two whole cans before even trying to turn it over. To be perfectly honest (I wasn't there) they probably hydrolocked it with ether and bent all the valves then it put the french fry so far into the ketchup that the rods turned the walls into windows.
Gotta be the best so far! Jeez, Peg you are a master! I hear the intro music and I know I am in 'the minty zone'! Ya 2nd the 0 points on Anhizer butch and Jill Daniels. GO PEG!
It’s 2:00 in the morning for me and I just polished off a case. I think the first 7min of this minty ducking video was the best story I’ve heard since Monica licked that crusty pickle.
My grandfather owned a logging and sawmill business and as a boy my fathee, who drove a minty ol' Cat-powered FreightShaker, would take me to the logwoods with him. When we had really cold weather it would not be uncommon to see the logging boys out in the woods building fires under the skidder, which also happened to be a Cat. Best way to warm that engine oil and get the ol' skidder started. This video brought back great childhood memories. The 80's and 90's were so awesome.
The only time I ever had fuel gel it was -30f here in Michigan which is pretty rare and my 12 valve Cummins started loosing power as I drove into town. I stopped it and let the fuel under the hood warm up and nursed it to town for a can of diesel 911 and a tank of fresh fuel.
I can't say I heard of engines blowing up from the Cosby sauce but did hear they get addicted to it. Kind of like crack hwore. My money was on the A block starting easiest. These days I love my 6NZ power but I'm a Cat guy. My dad was a Detroit guy, particularly the 2 strokes. I learned to drive on 8V92's, so I got a soft spot for those. Freightshaker? Obviously you were drinking that day. Cambodian Kenworths? I'm in on those. Hayes? Love the dirty ol bears. Hell. I even love the ol Louisvilles. Still own one. Helluva show you put on, Peg. Anyday you can piss off Greta is a good day in my book.
My 1988 9370 with a 400 Big Cam starts no problem down to 0F, anything lower than that and I've always had it plugged in, the thing is loyal as hell...
That bullbar on the black KW with the orange and red stripes came all the way from my home town in New Zealand, never seen one that far away from home. Keep up the good videos they’re awesome
Whitlog here in Oregon USA builds the same style bars. I doubt someone payed the kind of shipping to get one by boat when the back of a freight truck is so much cheaper.
I threw two rods through the side of a series 60 pulling up a hill in Nevada back in 2011, I literally walked down the hill picking up pieces of piston and liners and putting them in a shopping bag 😆😆😆😆
I can't believe how much you got me laughing! I'm a Canucklehead from GP and probably close to the same age as you, and I wish I had known you before I came to American Freedom Units!
@@mromatic17 Fuck yeah bud! If me and my buddies in Super Southern Canada (North Dakota) and Montana link up with ya'll, we can form our own lil nation of fingerwavin, booze-drinkin, oilfield workin stunners. We can flip off the world with our greasy fingers! Wouldn't that be a fuckin treat?
@@jchirschfeld1101 fuck yeah bro! oilberta and you guys are more American than 95% of all America! Fuck ya peg another awsome video I love watching these on my day off usually on the shitter drinking a beer thumbs up if you have them keep them coming
Peg you got to try a trick fur cold starts. An old farmer told me when it was going to get real cold they would drain the engine oil at night. Bring it in by the wood stove I’m sure the wife loved that and dump it in the next morning to do barn chores. I’ve never tried it.
Soviet tank crews used to hold burning torches right in front of the air intakes to help get the engines going in the winter and maybe it can work for you too. Kinda surprised too you used the fancy go-to-town rig hood instead of a Dodge one which you'll scrap anyways.
Peg my brother - your edits and drops are, well, they're perfect and you have me laughing my ass off, yes even me with my dark black heart of doom! All the best from Pittsburgh USA.
Goddamn that was good, thanks bud! I've fired up many a cold diesel with summer air in the throat hole, and a bit of pixies in the block heater, but I've never lit a fire on a Nissan hood to heat the oil pan.
How’s it goin ya minty guy, enjoying myself some Coors Latte’s and some minty cold cheechin 🤙, after rigging out some well test gear doing rig support out by Spirit River this morning
Always great shit brother! Just had to resurrect my 7.3 today and haul a load of wood because the winter just isn’t going to fuckin end this year apparently 👍

Another awesome video Peg. However, I'm starting to wonder if Willard was microwaved more than once, that dog is definitely stunned.

Nice Blizzard. Had some "sober" times on one of those old relics
Two strokes always start because the compression is sacked out so they crank fast enough for ether to fire.

Learned the hard way threw it and she caught the hole lawn on fire now I just cover the hole with my hand and suffocate the fire works like a charm
Old 2-strokes called for 30wt or 40w straight grade oil, which makes the fact they start good in cold even more magical.
