That input shaft I think has 4 gears on it 1 through 4 and there is another input shaft or something to allow for 5th and 6th to have a different final drive ratio from 1-4. Its like 4.29 final gear ratio 1-4 and 4.39 or 4.19 final ratio on 5-6th gear. If that sounds crazy too you or even improbable please also know that this is the first production car to ever do this or one of the first and I'm not sure how many similar designs have been done since but its one of the many advances in tech that were made by this platform mazda does not mess around. The speed engine would go on to be used in Ford's made to this day even I believe but the direct ignition spark injection disi dohc vvt mzr 2.3L was a technical Marvel one of mazdas many achievements in the last 50 years. Mazdaspeed is not a cheaper subi and wrx sti has badging and upgrades over the regular sedan. But the mazdaspeed 3 is a different car than the mazda 3. And the brunt of mazdas best technology of the time and as much of it as they would allow us to have power over gas mileage and have not done it since so its a precious time in history and badass tech. Front wheel drive because it's built to be the ultimate highway and regular driving race experience drive experience that can easily be used and applied in the real world. Funnest car to wragg on and you can drive it like you want too and its properly geared for it. I love this japanese superstar as you can tell I had a 2013. Currently own a 2011
Do you know where I can find the part numbers for my 2012 Mazdaspeed 3 synchronizer rings and maybe gears? Also, are the gear ratios the same for 2010-2013 Mazdaspeed 3?
Good job mate, I want to do my nazdaspeed3 gearbox but really scared, maybe your video will help me but may I ask you please, I have a little whining on 6 gear at about 100 km/h but only if I let go of the gas pedal, if I press the gas pedal even slightly the whining disappears, what bearing inside the gearbox you reckon is causing that? @@boostedtherapy7746 Hello mate, thanks for the reply, yes I did changes the pil and even added friction modifiers, it made the sound goes for about a month and it came back so I am thinking it is a bearing and not a geat. Cheers
did u buy brass forks i bought a bunch of shift forks with brass tabs on it i have he same issue as you only pops out on the downshift. cant wait to put the new forks in
Hey Boosted Therapy, was it your synchros going out that made it hard to shift when your going into high rpms? My speed 6 is having a hard time going into gear and 6th gear grinds when I shift to it.
So replying to my own comment, for anyone having this problem. Check your clutch pedal assembly, I found a crack in my pedal frame on the firewall, that was causing me not to shift correctly

It could be the gear itself but have you changed your gear oil to make sure you have enough in the system and to make sure it’s not wearing out?

I will get brass forks but for now I have to get the engine in order so I can get back up and have fun.

The pads on the second gear shift fork is worn. It’s a common issue I will replace them soon.
@@boostedtherapy7746 Did that fix the problem of 2nd popping out? Did your 2nd gear pop out on acceleration or deceleration?
I gotta ask, what's that trans mount look like? Apparently that really matters for pop outs and hard shifting
My trans mount was ok. I have a habit of changing my mounts every few years because I know they can cause issues.
Mine didn’t have the fork issue. Mine locked itself in fourth gear
