Thanks for covering this, looks interesting especially from all your enthusiasm haha. 10 years in development, wow! I'll have to keep my eye out. I like how interactive it looks. Do you think it's cutthroat/mean at all?
At times You'll need to outbid for turn order to take tenants before another player, possibly leaving them with none for their open building. You might also decide to place a chemical factory right in the middle of opponents to bring them down. But that's about it.
I would love to buy a version of this game that is more compact, works cardboard and standees and is 30% less expensive. Shelf space is in demand and this plastic stuff isn’t necessary for most gamers who love economic games anyway
Very interesting. My favorite economic game thus far has been Container, need to find a copy to see how they compare (with the obvious theme differences)
I love Container too but haven’t played it since getting this. One of my friends has been wanting to play container again to see how they compare and it hasn’t gotten to the table again yet, but this has. That’s a good sign.
This game is sooo good. Adult monopoly. Took 5 plays to really get everything. Every round is a bit unpredictable on what will come out so good. What to buy when to sell. Glad i picked this up. Really enjoy the review. This game can be nasty like you said because what you want doesn’t always come out so you have to adapt. Incredible game. 👍you can’t stall the game because it’s designed to progress every round in complexity .. the land value always increases awesome. 😀
We’re selling Magnate in our Chandler store now based on all the high praise from you and others in the area - played for the first time tonight and LOVED it!! You’ll have to come by the store some time and say hi!
I’m always curious how these best-of-the-year games age over the years. How does this game hold up these days? The economy aspect does seem very interesting
Sounds like being a landlord in SimCity, which doesn’t sound appealing when I put it that way but actually looks really interesting. Or Monopoly for the 21st century.
love love the 1 min overview and synopsis format!
Thanks Chad!
Okay I have a two year old. There is no way he would let me keep that 1st player marker if I busted that game out.
No they wouldn't!

Looks good, I like how interconnected it is. Some of the art design looks really basic but also pretty clean.
The interconnectivity makes this game sing!

Oh that’s awesome. Glad to see it is local and glad you loved it too! I’m in Gilbert so maybe I’ll stop by sometime!
I just stopped by but you weren’t there yet!
@@TheGameBoyGeeks So sad to miss you! I'm at the store every evening from 6p til close if you happen to be in the area again sometime!

This one still holds up well!
@@TheGameBoyGeeks thanks. I saw this one sale somewhere and probably will take the plunge! It surpassing Power Grid is very exciting!

This looks terrible.
it looks very fiddly and the whole dice rolling thing is a major turnoff.
