Your balcony has an amazing collection of Gymno cactus. The offsets grew so well. I just ordered some variegated Gymno seeds to grow. I have only two other grafted Gymno. One is a big dark purple one. Your Cactus make your balcony a happy place.
you all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Dylan Benedict thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thanks for the video! I have a question, if the pups are variegated already would they develop roots once I get them off the mother plant? Thanks in advance.
Hi Hafiz , may I know if I can use a smaller and shallower pot instead of a deep pot like yours? Is there any advantages in using a deep pot? Thanks in advance
When did pups grew roots? I have a small dark purple pup with green spots and it's been a month, no roots and it's green parts aren't as prominent as before. I can graft it if it's a better way
I am not too constrained with the mix of the soil, as long as they are porous and quick dry. Sometimes I recycle the same soil provided there are no bugs or fungus in it.
Hello 👋 ... i am from Philippines. Sir can i ask you some tips towards my gymnos .i really don't have any experience if how to propagate uprooted gymno.i buy this from online sale.this gymnos need more sunlight?in watering more water or not? need your advice please 😊😊😊. Merry Christmas ⛄⛄🎄🎄🎄 and a Happy New Year ...
I just got one of these today and I'm scared to touch it. I see you handling them. I thought I would get stuck after being stuck so many times by cacti before. It ain't pretty!
Wow....so beautiful!!! When do you water them and how often? Thank you for this video so very helpful. I always thought that moon cactus only survive when grafted! Happy New Year 2022!
These aren't moon cactus. Moon cactus are pure red or pure yellow and wouldn't survive without a host. These are multicolor cacti with green pigments, hence they can survive on their own. ;-)

Heyy ! Just a quick question... My new house has similar windows and similar lighting situations... We get only early morning to 12 pm sunlight... Is it okay for the cacti growth ? Im worried coz Most of my plants are cacti
Did you water them after planting? If not, how many days before you water them? How do you water them after planting? Everyday? Twice a week? Once a week?
Thx for this vid. I have a colorful one as well like yours. I just got it. Someone told me in FB that they need to be grafted to survive? I told him the one I got has lots of roots. What the hell is this dude talking about ? Thanks 😊
Offsets of some variegated Thai cultivars can grow roots and some variegated ones cannot. Especially if it is 100% variegated without a sliver of green.
Thanks for your explanation Hafez 😊 I was looking for advices because I bought some beautiful Gymnocalicium to deplug and cultivate them. They have green spots so they hopefully grow without a host. I don’t like the plugged ones. Do you only cultivate in spring or the whole year? Should I wait till march next year? And shall I water the offsprings substrate until it roots? Thanks a lot 🙂
@@afzalarbab716 Any porous soil mix will do. I usually mix 2 parts pumice, 1 part burnt akadama and 1 part peatmoss and throw in a bit of CIRP for root health.

@@HafezZahruddinGardenandKitchen thanks 😊👍...i think that my cactus exposed too much sun light since i growing them on the south of my windows..from sunrise till sunset 😭
Thank you for answering my question on if the less colorful pups would push color later!
I just bought my first gymno yesterday. Looking forward to see it grow like the one here in the video. 😍 thank you for sharing!

Thanks very helpful. WOW, Beautiful collection.Where did you buy your pots?
Mostly I bought my pots online.
Gracias x el vídeo, muy interesante !!!💚
If you can tell us how long it takes to grow from the small pot to the last picture,It will be very appreciated. Thanks a lot.
thank you.. how much do you water the offset till it gets roots??
How long after repotting the pups did you water them in? Or does your potting mix look a little 'damp' to start with?
Hello, what is the content of the soil mixture in your video and do you use anything to root the babies you separated from the mother plant?
This method works well in cold winters

where buy all the collection gymno variagate from? It's so beautiful.....
I buy through online. Some are from Thailand and eBay.
Would it be possible to buy one or two from you? Beautiful colors. Good information.
I love it...
Did you use the same soil mix as the first before they had roots for the second potting of the pups after they had rooted?
I am not too constrained with the mix of the soil, as long as they are porous and quick dry. Sometimes I recycle the same soil provided there are no bugs or fungus in it.
Beautiful! How Much was it when you buy the mother plant?
It was Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) 120

Do you water the pups even there is no roots yet?
Hi Hafez, Did you use a 7 cm pot for the 3 offsets? That’s a good idea to have them grown to a good size after a year.
Yes, I make them share the pot. This was at my old house. Not much space
Can you grow the mini cactus offsets which you took at min 5?
You can try... Sometimes, they root despite very small.
Yee.. wan to ask, how long or old cactus so that little cacty come out?
Increíble cómo se reproducen de rápido. Cada cuánto hay que regarlos?
Buen trabajo 👍👍👍
Do you sell them..? Where do you buy them?
Boa trde amigo estou comessando agora com cactos estou gostando muito tenho depressão os cactos estão fasendo viver novamente me ajuda com mudas
Wow so amazing 😘🌵
So nice of you
How often do you water the offsets.
Belissino ta vontadede trazer um de cada pra mimmm amoooooooo
Can you tell me the exact breed. I love it's colour patters. I have one, but no so beautiful like yours.
This is Gymnocalycium mihanovichii cultivar "Multicolor".
Once you placed the offsets on top of the soilmix, did you water it right away? And how often do you water it until it produce roots?
I wait for 2-3 days before watering them. My routine is to water when the soil is dry. You can feel from the weight on of the pot.

Hi what are the chances of sending me some pups to South Africa please?
Hi Hafez, how frequently we need to water them? 2 weeks once enough?
I water when the soil is dry. It depends on the weather. If the weather is hot, and the soil dries faster, I water up to 3 times per week.
Heyy ! Just a quick question... My new house has similar windows and similar lighting situations... We get only early morning to 12 pm sunlight... Is it okay for the cacti growth ? Im worried coz Most of my plants are cacti
At the moment, I always make sure that my cacti are getting ay least 5 hours of direct light. This balcony is not really shady. It is quite bright.
No need air dry of the pups?
Sometimes I don't air dry because I am impatient 😅😂
Lindissimo
Good night, I have a graft, the gymnocalcium lives on top of another cactus and is already producing children. Can I use the same technique?
It depends on the offsets. If it has green color on it (chlorophyll), then there is possibility of rooting
Can these pups be grown without being attached the cactus 🌵?
Yes, I think so. You can let them attached on the mother plant, or you can also detach them.
Hi can i use Austrocylindropuntia subulata (Eve's Needle Cactus) for my rootstock ( scion) to graft my Gymno on to thanks
I have never used them. So far I only use, Harrisia, Hylocereus or Pereskiopsis.
Did you water them after planting?

How do you water them after planting? Everyday? Twice a week? Once a week?
I water after 2-3 days planting. My routine is to water when the soil is dry.
May I know need to cover them up?
If you think it need some humidity, then you can cover them up. As for me, I just expose them
Does it matter what color the offset is ? Example I have some yellow and red , do they all root the same ?
Necesita que el cactus tenga alguna parte verde para que pueda hacer fotosíntesis y enraizar, los que muestra en el video tienen partes verdes
Gymnocalycium Friedrichii is the one I have
Please share your potting mix
The basic mix is 1 part peatmoss and 2 or 3 part pumice
@@HafezZahruddinGardenandKitchen thank you🙏
Basic mix of what? Cacti soil or potting mix soil?
at what intervals did you water it? mine is rotting very quickly
I let the soil dry before I water
I see. So it's just fine not to use a cellophane to trap the moisture. Thanks for this.
Can these grow in a cluster together in one pot?
Yes, Gymnocalycium can grow in clusters

It has chlorophyll. Those green blotches have chloroplasts in them. This is not Moon Cactus. This is Thailand cultivar called "Multicolor".
