I think Jokic is even closer in terms of his skill set and stability. Luka always looks like the wheels are going to fall off, but he does hit those game winning threes. Neither is perfect comparison b/c Jokic is center and Luka plays like a guard. Lebron isnt a bad analogy either. His and Bird's best season stats are actually closer than almost any comparison. Style of play looks different, but production was similar. The era matters; pretty sure getting those stats in Bird's era was tougher

Rachel, I saw this when you interviewed Luka after the game and he said more nice words about Bird and what he means is he’s still got a lot to prove before being comapred to Larry Legend. You’re confusing your viewers on this one and you just cut-off your whole interview with him and just showed this.

The feel for the game and control of pace within the game is the same as Larry and Magic. The clutch was is there as well. When a shot is needed or a spectacular assist or rebound. It is very similar. Obviously, Bird was better in a lot of respects and bigger. But what I mentioned at the beginning I feel is spot on.

Bird was a post player and could shoot outside also. He didn't cross over guys nor was he a playmaker like luka. He was not much of a pg. Luka is a PG that handles the rock, has good handles, penetrates, can shoot and also finishes inside. The only comparison is they both can score and can shoot. Otherwise I dont see much similarities.

Pierce was a beast and a well known high flyer through the first 10 years of his career. By the time Garnett and Allen got there Pierce wasn't jumping through the roof anymore but for a good portion of his career he did. Check his highlights from 1998 to mid 2000's.

I actually think Luka plays like... Luka.
Bird had a different style of play, which is mostly due to how the game was played. Bird dribbled less, and he did way more give and go than Luka does. That is not a hit on Luka, the game is different now and there is more freedom for those who can dribble to do so.

Let Luka be Luka! As a huge Larry Bird fan I will say that they have similarities! I keep seeing posts saying Luka is 22 years old and already better than Larry at this age. Really can't say so bc Larry was in college putting up 30ppg, 13rbs and 5apg as a power forward/center with a small mid major school with one other player averaging 18ppg. Best shooter in college and no 3pt line plus tougher defenses and led them to a national championship while being undefeated until final game. Remember Luka has been professionally prepared since 16 years old playing in Euroleague and his National team! He played against men not high school boys his entire basketball career so he should be miles ahead of Larry in pro experience.
