nobody is talking about Jameson Williams making that catch knowing he was gonna get clobbered...and still he held on the the ball. that was a key play to keep the drive and hopes alive
Holding on to the ball through a double hit like that is no easy feat. His ability to maintain control of the pigskin under that kind of physical duress at that time was decisive.
That's why he didn't entertain any lame questions or address his suspension that much, he is a person like everyone else and he is here to let his football game speak for itself. LETS GO WAYMO ROOTING FOR YOU ALL THE WAY
No matters what happens. I promise I will enjoy this ride. I know nothing last forever. Hell losing didn't. This feels amazing. Enjoying it while I can..
Don’t think negative, because we’re here to stay!!! It’s out time to ride on top awhile, which is why I am glad we resigned so many GREAT players. So let’s not downplay our potential to be GREAT for awhile!🙌🏽🙌🏽🔥🔥😀😀❤️❤️ #GOLIONS!!!!
LaPorta and Jameson had a great game, solid catches when we needed it. This team is bullet proof, when one side or person isn't having a good day, the rest of the team steps up 💙
Love both of those guys but neither played a great game. Both had great moments but not a great game, both were responsible for an interception each. Always things to get better at. Let’s get back to work Lions!!!!
U know damn well they will give it Andy Reid...the nfl..the officials and the so called media will do whatever they can to keep the "MARKETABLE" chiefs on top
Bates the Great! I fell in love with that kid when he was kicking for the Michigan Panthers this spring. Such a great kid, so humble and grateful to be here. It's an exciting time to be a Lions fan!!!
We need to give love to those who travel to these games. You taking over other ppls house is awesome. The players need that support. Thank you lions Fans for showing out!
If my health was better I'd be there with them people. I've been a loyal fan w/ season tickets for 27 yrs. Starting in 1962. Love those Lions !!! On the way to the top !!
Thank you, Sheila, for trusting your gut and not listening to the noise in those early days. This team is sooooooo freaking good! We actually have players that WANT to play for the Lions! That’s never happened in my life! (45 yo)
I was worried, but I told myself if we lose this game. It is not going to effect us and next week we are going to wreck the next team in line. I woke up excited seeing the final score
Even with getting blasted on occasion when coach speaks before you’re ready, I can’t thank you enough for opening that Mike so we can hear the questions… 🤜🏻🤛🏻
What a great learning game for this team !! Totally down first half, D kept it semi close. Then to work and grind our way back to a victory !!!! ONE PRIDE !! GO LIONS ❤
I know right!! This is such a magical run they are on. It definitely is bringing back vibes from those teams. You could even throw the Tigers from 12+ years ago on that list even though they didn't win a championship. It feels so good to finally have a winning squad in Detroit again.
Dan Campbell is the best. He's intellectual. He's got feeling. He has the feel for his team because he knows the players and they know him. The way Campbell verbalizes is special. He speaks so clearly off the top of his head. He always know the right angle to take, he doesn't hold back in his praise or his criticism. He's the best coach the Lions have ever had. If he'd been the coach during the years with Calvin Johnson, Stafford and Suh there's no doubt we would already have won a Superbowl. Maybe two. Cambell was the missing ingredient those great teams needed. Team grit level was lacking in those years. They would have beaten Dallas that year in the playoffs, I know it.
The MAIN reason that The Lions won is right there on that podium talking. HC Dan Campbell came to Detroit with a mindset, vision and work ethic that he believed would not only change the "culture" but the whole "soul" of this team. It is Motown. That's what's happening. GM Brad Holmes and his staff give Campbell exactly the type of players he wants and the rest is a stunning early history.
We're finally playing the ball our parents used to brag to us about. None of my uncles are around any longer. But they'd be all like "See?" "See??" "Told you!" Great to see it in my lifetime.
You can point to any Lions team in the past and each one of them would’ve lost this game whether it was because of poor coaching, poor play or just overall poor culture, but not this team. This team has great coaches all around, players that can make plays and everyone in the organization is bought in to this gritty culture, keep the pedal down, they could be the first 16-1 team in NFL history 😉
Come on media team. Why is it so difficult to put up a microphone. Reporters can get their ass in line to ask their questions. Maybe it will be more orderly and civil too. We need to hear the question to know what the answer is about.
Love this team, the whole organization from Sheila down!! Dan put the mentality to not give up! Play tough for the whole hour! Something they just didn't seem to have in years past! 😃
As you look back to the start of the season, MCDC didn't play any starters in the preseason and it showed with the offense the first couple of games. Since the Tampa Bay game, the offense has continued to pick up steam and the defense is improving weekly as well. Hopefully, the Lions are a well oiled machine come playoff time and they can roll right to a Super Bowl victory!
Trade deadline is over. I really hope Decker gets well soon because our O line is not the same without him. That could change the entire outlook for the rest of the season.
Nothing is changing the outlook of the season from inside the lockerroom....and that is all that really matters. The "next man up", "never say die", & "do your job" attitudes that this team fully embraces makes the loss of any single individual inconsequential to the goal of the team. Everyone nationally assumed we were done when Hutch went down unless we replaced him....but since his injury, our defense has actually stepped up & improved, which doesn't seem like it should be possible, but it happened. Goff is the only injury I feel would ultimately be too big to survive, but as long as he is healthy, we can beat anybody as a team.
I could be wrong, but I think he just has a pectoral tear or something minor. Decker is tough as nails. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back next game.
@@Barronfreeman1978 no its not, lol. He can still win, especially if Mahomes is still in the running with the same total. Mahomes also had a lower passing rating than Goff against the 49ers, despite the 5 picks. And it's not like most of the interceptions were even his fault.
Give him the rest of the season to continue proving himself & then absolutely. No need to jump the gun on anything when he is already under contract for 2 years bc injuries happen, & giving him a raise just bc we are happy he is playing well isn't good business. If he keeps this up, they will probably re-structure & extend him an additional year or two, but there is no need to do anything before then.
My vision has them going to the Super Bowl to face the Chiefs. Everyone and their mother will pick the Chiefs (except us Lions fans) and the Lions will surprise everyone and deny the Chiefs their three-peat. It's a beautiful vision lol. But yea, locking in that number 1 seed is crucial.
I agree. Like one question started with, "how proud are you of this team......?". Of course, Dan is going to say he's very proud of this team. So many reporters ask questions they already know the answer to or they ask coaches and players to quantify an emotion like "how happy are you" or "how proud are you" and the answers are almost always the same generic answers. It's kind of silly if you ask me but whatever.
instead of Ja-red Goff(its getting old and is unfair to rest of the studs on offense and defense and special teams) we need to start a chant of Soo-per bowl
I think we should alternate between the players. D-MO D-MO, Amen-ra Amen-ra, Le-port-ta Le-port-ta lol But at the same time, I think the team understands that a chant for Jared Goff is also a chant for the entire team. It's kind of no different than just chanting Let's Go Lions except that it was something different than the same old chant which caught peoples attention.
Have you ever heard of the song Holy Diver,.by Ronnie James Dio!? Well , on the Detroit Lions ,... we Have Holy Kicker!!!! There is a song that!!!😂😂😂😂 Go Lions!!!!
Because our owner Shiela trusted her gut and picked a man everyone probably told her not to pick. She has saved this franchise IMO. It all started with her.
Some of the questions these reporters ask are SO DUMB. "What did you think of Darius cheering on the players on the sideline?" What is Dan going to say? I hate that? I wish he wouldn't be so happy? Such dumb questions.
I love winning but sometimes losing allows you to get the players attention. Our best games last year came after Ravens n Packers butt kicking. If you keep winning guys may not feel the need to change anything. Anytime Detroit loses or plays terrible on offense its because an olineman is out. If Goff trust his oline and has time hes one of the best QBs in the league however if has pressure in his face or doesnt feel safe in the pocket hes pretty bad. So can we please never play Skipper again especially at left tackle? Plus you can tell the game plan had already been installed by the time Decker injury happened because we ran more to the left side and we still had the long developing plays to Jamo down feild which took too long thus we couldn't protect Goff.
Just like the odds caught up with JG yesterday, they inevitably will with Bates; hopefully it doesn't cost us a win like yesterday, but if so, I'm avoiding the comment section when it happens and remember games like the two he's already won for us 😉
