    Great video! the head position detail is gold. Been studying these two videos and they follow exactly what youre saying about chasing the back vs exposing wrestling. Head inside to hip to hip chasing the back: ruclips.net/video/_BK4l5vrMOk/видео.html head outside to inside trip: ruclips.net/video/pFhgHpx-UrM/видео.html

      Man those are both perfect examples of what I was talking about. Thanks for sending! I really like that arm drag to inside trip. Again I have not seen this talked about much in BJJ and I could only find it in wresting videos so we will see if it becomes more mainstream in jiu-jitsu. Hopefully people share this video :)

    Head position is often neglected in BJJ. Coming from a wrestling background, it makes such a huge difference in grappling.

    Solid. Head inside the shoulder take the back, head out side the shoulder wrestle with shots. Chest position is major aspect.

    hey, I love the content. I take issue with your first point being the head position. While it isn't completely wrong, it isn't looking at the most important part of the standing arm drag, that is the foot position, and chest connection. What you are calling head position is a proxy of sorts for chest position. In other words if your sternum is on your opponents triceps, you have the back. You can force this with your initial foot position. By stepping in with the drag side leg you prevent your opponents ability to turn through. By sagging that hip you put tremendous pressure on you opponent to step forward and into a position where the chest can connect with the treceps. Shallow or less committed arm drags that cross the center line always end up opening a take down. This can also be somewhat predicted based on the opponents stance. If you are dragging the back leg side arm you will get a step and most likely open the back, if it is the front side arm you most likely wont get a ton of back exposure.
    Hope this helps. I have wrestled for a very long time and use this system almost exclusively from both standing and the guard.

    Nice study man. I find it "easier" to take the back when I arm drag the front leg or arm.

    • @LIMIBJJ
      @LIMIBJJ  2 года назад

      Yeah I agree the near arm is best to drag if the goal is to take the back!

    I watch all your videos and recommend you to everyone I know.
    It would be great if you could use slow motion in the fight scenes that you show in your videos. Sometimes it's really difficult to see what you're explaining.
    Other than that keep producing that killer content!

      @@LIMIBJJ was just able to hit it in practice today from arm dragging from head and arm position(me being on bottom). That head position makes a world of difference so they cant pivot to face you!

      @@kenseisato1989 awesome! That detail blew my mind when I learned it and glad you are able to use it! Izaak tried to do it on Jansen as well but Jansen was able to get his arm back around to stop it. Seems like more and more high level people do arm drags like this
