      Depends on what her goal is. If she wants to qualify to AA final, she needs to dramatically improve bars. There’s no path for floor EF even with a double layout. Now when more non-American coaches realize what they lose on floor, there is no other Nina to floor EF in 2024.

    • @erinm9445
      @erinm9445 4 месяца назад +2

      @@cocoroni1031 Sorry, could you explain more what you mean by your last sentence? Also, 3rd reserve for floor final at worlds last year had a 13.433 in quals. Her path to event finals is a longshot even with upgrades, and almost certainly requires mistakes from others, but I wouldn't say no path at all.

    • @markcouture4726
      @markcouture4726 4 месяца назад +1

      @@erinm9445 I agree. With a double layout opener and a better 1.5 + front full, this goes 5.3 + 8.5 and 13.8 could be enough to squeak into finals.

    • @cocoroni1031
      @cocoroni1031 4 месяца назад

      @@erinm9445 I mean there is no possible path for Emma to qualify for FX EF even as 2nd reserve like Nina did. American coaches have some weird obsession with L hop and Gogean but other countries don't. This year the QF score will go up because there is no change in FIG leadership. So the score system won't dramatically change, but more people know what they should do to score higher.

    Many still thinks Emma shouldn't rep the PHI and said "stole" the spot to "real Asian".
    First, Emma is actually a full blooded Filipino, as both her parents are Filipino who migrated to US with whatever reason. That makes her a full blooded Asian.
    Second, if you think GAP is unfair by recruiting US-based gymnasts, don't you think those so-called "small Asian gymnastics federation" can do the same? 🤨
    Third, Emma "earned" her spot "fair and square", even you don't want to accept it. She was only offered the opportunity but "she did all the work" to qualify!

    • @SquirtlePower809
      @SquirtlePower809 4 месяца назад +4

      I have mixed feelings honestly. The "blood" argument you make idc about. This isn't about your "blood", it's about your country. So like if a whyte person is born and raised in the Phillipines, when they compete they are fillipino. Emma, Levi, and Aleah are American and so that is the country they should compete for. I'm not mad at the athletes at all, but I do think the rules need to be changed so that athletes can't "hop" around to different countries.

    • @keyelschienn6679

      @@SquirtlePower809
      Same old script.
      You know, why don't you just say that the reason of you having a "mixed-feeling" is because "she's from the US". That's all, the word is actually "bias".
      Again, she's full-blooded Filipino! Emma said it herself. Her parents are immigrants. Then, that made me believe that you're just racist against immigrants.
      As for Aleah and Levi, they have Filipino blood and they can prove it. They have been asked and they responded.
      And please! You don't reallt care about the small gymnastics federations of other countries. It's just all your personal bias.
      Athletes do change the country they represent most of the time. It's accepted ever since. 😏

      @keyelschienn6679 lol I don't think you understood what I said. Like at all lolz. And ffs have you not realized yet how CRINGE and lazy it is to just throw out the "racism card"? It's not 2020 anymore, no one cares about that ish. And I literally DID say that my problem is she is an AMERICAN GYMNAST!!! I don't care if she is full-blooded Irish or fillipino or Egyptian lmao, that has got fck all to do with your country. Or is the difference between race, culture, ethnicity, and nationality too much for you to handle? The whole racism claim is so wild hahahha. Think about this in another context. Imagine Russia shipping in some Chinese gymnasts JUST because they have Russian blood or ancestry? Like naw, that's weird af. You should only be able to compete for one nation really. And idgaf what race you are lmao.

      Fair, but it seems like the fed approached her (and Aleah and Levi)-- it's not like they sought out to country-hop; they were asked to by the country's fed. They didn't have any female gymnasts who could qualify before, and now they have three. If one of them can at least make the AA final, that could certainly help raise the profile of the sport, potentially get more funding to help home-grown gymnasts get internationally competitive? It's a sticky issue to be sure.
