Wow! I admire this woman before and I admire her more, after I watched this. She is an exceptional woman, with courage and conviction, who loves her country and the people. As an Indian it was emotional to watch this. Both the parents come from former British colonies ( African and Indian) and the struggles to reach where she ( & her mother ) is mind-blowing and inspirational. I worked on Kamala"s small campaign for president in 2020 across the river in Council Bluffs, Ia, I saw her up close and personal and noticed how present she was. Her husband and the first gentlemen, Doug, trained us. Sweet guy. down to earth. Kamala is brilliant. I still have her stickers on my front porch.

Let's remember that Kamala Harris is not just a black woman. It's important to recognize her mixed heritage - she is both Black and Indian in equal measure.
In fact, portraying her as solely one or the other can be seen as reductive and even insulting. Let's celebrate her multifaceted identity without resorting to shallow tactics.

I hope they will get to that aswell, but she grew up in the US where the social construct race has had a massive impact in her life, and emphasises what visionary leaders of colour have accomplished through actually taking back the concept of black. Of course, being Asian and Caribbean gives her two other dimensions too. But her immediate personal experience as an American has largely shaped her americanness. Of course she has relationships to the cultures her parents come from on top of that and they are part of her too.
Actually I think she is 50% Indian, a little more than 25% white, and a little less than 25% black.

One day we shouldn't forget she's Indian. The other day we should not forget she's Black. She's Kamala, deal with it.
She has always been described as someone from those two backgrounds. All her life she has been socially integrated with the black community more than the Indian community, and that's why she is often identified in that direction. Nevertheless, that doesn't change the fact that she is both African American and Indian American. Stop trying to create issues where there is none

I hope she wins. When she became vice president four years ago, we were both 55. She was 55 and I was 55. Now we’re both 59. I’m not a person of colour but as a person with disabilities total blindness from birth being one of them, the first one anyway, And also I live in Canada, which Kamala Harris did for a while, I don’t know. Listening to her voice and so on it makes me feel like we’re tethered in someway. We don’t agree on all the issues. For instance, I’m not a big fan of abortion. But I still feel kind of tethered to her. Because I’ve always wanted to accomplish and achieve things in my life. People with disabilities often dream about, and maybe I don’t know if I dream about it more than a person with no disabilities, but accomplishment and ability and opportunity are things I haven’t had a lot of luck with. However, I’ve done a couple of firsts as well. In the late 70s, I was transferred from the Ontario school for the blind to Jerick not Jericho Hill, but into an integrated class with seeing children. Children can see and I were in the same class. I’ve done theatre as a totally blind woman, and had a radio show in my younger healthier days, and, that radio show was part of a work experience program. Plus, I’ve done music and theatre and theatre isn’t something you see blind people in mostly. I also did a part in a silent on camera what they call a silent on camera part. Now I’m 59 and I’m also in a wheelchair thanks to a bunch of diseases that robbed me of my hands and my ability to walk. Or at least I can walk a few steps, but I can’t get a dog or a white cane anymore because I’m in a wheelchair. Blindness and wheelchairs don’t mix. I have a question about how the far left can say that the USA is a predominantly racist country, when, Obama was president for eight years and now Kamala Harris is going to be president maybe. Hopefully.
We are witnessing history in the making with the first woman to become president. That is so exciting 🎉
A complete nightmare is coming if she makes it. God help us.
I am surprised by my unleashed enthusiasm for Kamala - the more I hear about her, the more I just love her!!! It is like the revenge of Mad Men....Brilliant Women! Kamala fits that well. "We are better than this" yes, it is a fight...always has been, but you could not always approach it that way. Now we have no choice - we are facing a true Bully who wont let up. Voting for Kamala for sure!!!
