paintball is like nascar was for my dad. I can watch it or have it playing all day in the background. so good.
Here we are in 2022, Matty and Rich still can never figure out the body count, they can never see the names of the players during live action (because they have no view of them), they still open their soda cans next to the mic, and we still have the exact same camera angles as 20 years ago. Yet gosports probably wonders why they can't get more people to subscribe. How about you put barrel cams on live, mic up more players, get more cameras on the field so the announcers and the audience can actually see what is going on.
The coverage of paintball has been the exact same since 2003. This sport is way more exciting than how it's broadcasted. It's just so sad to see almost zero progress in live coverage since I started playing.
I feel Rich is far more of an issue than Matty. Rich is an incredibly cool guy in general, but he doesn't have the charisma, cognition, or voice for broadcasting.
They should probably get something more exciting than speedball going. Speedball is boring. Tiny field, tiny teams. The only strategy is run to a piece of cover and mag dump the whole round and maybe move once or twice per round.

That first 1v1 hill got shafted. He has enough time to stop and point before he even gets shot even if you cant see the hit, that tells the story. But you CAN, clearly hit his hopper

Gosh I used to play Greg Hastings paintball on Xbox so much and would use Matty all the time, best move paintball ever did was bring ollie back the only reason I’m watching right now thought he would stay in Bali forever haha 😂
Gosh I’m getting old I feel like I should be out there on that field right now it’s so weird that the winner I think I heard only wins 40k?? I think when I went to cup back when ollie showed up in an ironmen jersey and they won it the first prize was like 200-500k idk 🤷 but I sat by Ollie’s mom the whole final she’s the true goat! So nice 👍🏼 🙏🏼

Ironmen just refuse to play the snake. Event after event. So sad. Even when they're in it they play it like newbs. CRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl
All the best spots to protect that snake from are low bunkers and just compound your risk if you try to team work the snake. You basically need to get to the 3rd or 4th knuckle and have someone talking to you so you know when everyone is looking the wrong way (which they are not likely to do). It's all high investment, high risk and maybe reward or you just play it fast through the right moments.
I might try to make the 3rd knuckle and shoot at some once then retreat back one knuckle all as a plan to get someone in 60 or 70 dorito, but that snake is really a bit stale unless you really spice it up with some craziness.
idk bro snake is super weak this layout. most teams haven't been using it until they get 2 or 3 kills

Imgine how disciplined you would need to be to win in paintball if it wasn't too expensive ($20 per lane and $10 per kill) for everyone to play

At tourneys max ive seen 40-50$ a case 4000 a case of paint.
all plsyers start with 2-3 cases, costs me 200-400 a tournement to play with entry and paint usually, never been to world cup

@@jax9074 I have zero experience doing what the pro's do. Learning how to win and being able to impress people enough to get a chance at winning are not at all the same things. I feel like I could have possibly figured it out though. I impressed a couple of pro's in the past, and I definitely got laughed at by guys who weren't pro's too.
