Being a cat lover I loved A Street cat named Bob, and while Bob is the star of the book, James has opened up my eyes to the plight of the homeless and other people who have fallen down the cracks of our society and deserves a lot of credit for his honest account of his life
Most people do not understand how important companions our animals can be, i watch the movie yearly, i myself have two cats, and most of the time do not get through the movie keeping it dry

It's been 4 years today it still hurts a lot and I'm so sorry for James! But Bob has been immortalised by his memorial and in 100 years everyone will still fall in love with James+Bob and their adventures together
Awwww James' first reaction was to try and ruffle Bob's ears and the back of his neck. He and Bob had a very special relationship, Bob was meant for James, his love for his cat (and the love of his cat for his human) and determination to keep him against all the odds, the film A Christmas Gift from Bob is worth watching and shows how difficult it is for an addict to recover, for the love of his cat he did. James now has two kittens, you never forget or stop loving, you just extend your pet family (whether that's cats, dogs, rabbits etc;)

I just saw the movie and it deeply resonated with me. I suffer from severe depression with psychotic symptoms and anxiety. A litter of kittens was born when I was in a mental hospital. I took care of them and when they were around 6 weeks old, I took my favorite ginger cat with me. He's my mate Bucifálek, named after a dragon from a Czech kids movie. He's three years old now, and I am so glad to have him. He makes life bearable for me, I love him deeply. I love you Bucifálek, you're the reason I am here.

I took a pilgrimage from India to visit Bob on 3rd July 2024. I also bought two books written by Bowen from the Waterstones, just behind Bob. I hope it helps him. He needs a third chance, it seems...A fulfilling life occasion for me.
Sadly James doesn't benefit from the book sales it seems.... The Ghost writer did. It was such a shame, as I assumed James would never have to worry about money again, and would be safely housed. Bob's loss was a tragedy. Allegedly he got out of a window onto the road. The Driver of the car has never come forward. Bob is a very special Cat, a one in a Million. Some animals are extremely special, and Bob was one of these. ♥

Soon after adopting my first cat I discovered James' books. Whilst reading about his life with Bob, my opinion of homeless changed forever, even though I have been very close to the situation myself. Deep down we all believe it happens to someone else right? Yet anyone could become homeless from whatever cause, enviromental, economic, or just a situational breakdown. Yes everyone deserves a second chance, both human and animal, and especially those willing to seek the hand up, over the hand out. :)
I cried watching this, cause I remember reading the book, and my cat means so much to me as well. When we got our cat my dad was dying from cancer and he basically made our lives so much better in a time of need, and even to this day he makes my life so much more worth while, especially when I'm feeling down or things aren't going the way they seem.

Soon after adopting my first cat I discovered James' books. Whilst reading about his life with Bob, my opinion of homeless changed forever, even though I have been very close to the situation myself.
Deep down we all believe it happens to someone else right? Yet anyone could become homeless from whatever cause, enviromental, economic, or just a situational breakdown. Yes everyone deserves a second chance, both human and animal, and especially those willing to seek the hand up, over the hand out. :)
The pandenic has already made many people around the world jobless and homeless...
I cried watching this, cause I remember reading the book, and my cat means so much to me as well. When we got our cat my dad was dying from cancer and he basically made our lives so much better in a time of need, and even to this day he makes my life so much more worth while, especially when I'm feeling down or things aren't going the way they seem.
