Thanks for checking out the compact firebreather that is the Friedman BE-Mini with us! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more demos like this!
I picked one up couple days ago in gear exchange at sweetwater for 189.00 used and it's an awesome little beast 😎 better than I expected it's a lot of fun 🤘
LOL, he doesn't make anything, all the boards and crap are made overseas and then Boutique Amps Distribution in CA assembles them using imported labor and markets them, just like all Friedman amps
This is a VERY smart move by Dave. Being able to own the Friedman tone has been beyond the means of most folk, at least until now. This is a GREAT way for the legions of home players that love Friedman sound and products, to finally have a piece of the rock. And roll. My feeling is that Dave is going to have a hard time keeping up with demand.
I'm so happy. I've literally been saying this for years. Higher End amp and pedal manufacturers should put their top tier pristine distortion pedal circuits into amp heads and sell them as solid state amps. It costs so much less than tube, they already have a fantastic reputation as awesome sounding circuits so the tone snobs will hush up some and you can put them in compact mini enclosures for a super solid Lunch Box practice amp choice. I'm chomping at the bit for when Revv does this with their G3 or G4 and for sure I WILL be getting this Friedman.
Nick is an awesome player. Loved Grim Reaper. This will go great with my PRS MT head in a stereo rig set up. It will also make a great all around everyday practice amp. Great job as usual Sweetwater, and Nick.
I felt I was privileged at the time because my first amp was a modeler. An analog Tech 21 clone - Behringer GM110 - but it was truly awful by today’s standards. I felt guilty for being fancy while other people played through their Ibanez Toneblasters. But still - it paled in comparison to now!
You guys are right! It’s really cool! I got my little guy today and it sounds great! It’s not like my big boy BE 100 or like any of my other Friedman amps. But, it’s awesome in it own way. It has some balls for a little 30 watt SS amp. I would say the loudness would compare to a 5 watt tube amp..
2. Was downsizing my gear, my ENGL SAVAGE SE has been on sale for aeons. But I need this. Wondering which 1x12 I should buy to jam with this at home. Considering the Bluguitar nanocab. I own the Lichtlaerm Key & Gate, some various fx pedals and a Nova System that I haven't used in years...
@@TheBramVC I tried using it for home playing direct into cab simulation but the FX LOOP was very noisy and didn't play well with my other units. I also tried with various attenuator options and nothing got me to a healthy tone for a £300 amp, so I returned it.
This is a really smart move on Dave's part. It's going to expose a lot more people to Friedman who wouldn't have given the brand another look due to the hefty price tag... and not doubt turn them on to the more expensive models when they have money in the future. It's also as cheap as a pedal for some people to not even think twice about. Also a smart move of the Sweetwater rep to use an array for affordable guitars to showcase the amp, no doubt trying to appeal to people on a budget.
The deadliness of that pencil box is totally unbelievable...i wonder if people would mod it for more modern Metal or if a boost/EQ is enough to make it a slicing chug machine
Actually I’m looking for an inexpensive practice amp that sounds close to my Bogner Ecstasy, so I don’t have to put unnecessary time on the power tubes for no reason. So, it’s not just the “cute factor”. I’m having a hard time deciding between the Bogner, Friedman, Soldano and Diezel.
Can you run this without a cab, out of the fx send into say a Orange Pedal Baby to have a 100 watt Friedman or would that damage the head by not hooking a cab directly to its main output?
Hi and thanks for your message, hope you're well. The BE-Mini is solid state so you could run from the FX send to an external power amp. Doing that does eliminate the power amp voicing from your signal chain so it will change the tone. I'd mic it up connected to a cab and send the output to a full range speaker, then you have the potential of 1000 watts or more. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Dave described me to a T. I need it for home and can’t run a 7 watt tube head without attenuation, more or less 25 or 100. I don’t want to wait for mine to be delivered
I got my little BE mini today and it’s exactly like Dave says! It’s not like my Big Boy BE 100 or like any of my other Friedman amps. But, this little amp kicks ass! I’m so glad I picked up one.... Its so little...lol any smaller it would fit in my cargo pocket in my pants...
Guitar nerd has a vid of this head and it sounds incredible! no fancy micing or anything just the amp I cant leave a link because YT now deletes links but search BE mini guitar nerd
Wow, you must be using one hell of a mic or some post processing... I got one of these yesterday and it's just not good. I mean I shouldn't be surprised that a solid state amp is buzzy and meh but damn. I tried it though an Orange 1x12 and a Marshall 4x12... My Orange Micro amps sound better and they're almost $200 cheaper! I REALLY wanted to like this. 😓
this is awesome, kinda of a one trick pony but wth for that price is just enough. Id like to see a dirtly shirley like this, im not sure this one can do non-metal very well
If it had a tube itd be awesome (just like the orange micro dark), otherwise I'll stick to the beod deluxe pedal which is cheaper and sounds just as good.
It would be way better with a drummer and band setting but this little head is just awesome at 30 watts solid state it could actually be loud enough for lots of people playing at home with the radio and bars where they are small stages and then mic it if it's not loud enough !?
Watch Michael Neilson from Big Hairy Guitars. He uses the FX loop “Send” and ran it through an IR. It sounded massive. The amp has a protected circuit for the power section. I’m looking forward to trying it through a tube power amp. Just for chits and giggles.
So did I understand it correctly: an 8 ohm cab is recommended? I ordered one of these and been looking at cabinets to get for it. I'm a little new at this head and cabinet stuff. Only had combo amps before.
Hi, Samuli! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. Killer amp. When using a single cab, the amp is looking for 8 or 16 ohms. If you use multiple cabs, the load shouldn't be below 4 ohms. So 2x 16ohms give you 8, and 2x 8 ohms give you 4. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! @@sweetwater Thank you for the response. It helped me figure this out. Looks like I'll be getting that 8 ohm HESU 1x12 I've had my eye on for home use. Thank you again!
@Orangutan Guitars It's an awesome amp. Really like the sound. Almost tube like in it's own way. Really a loud amp. Not much cleans but I don't really play clean anyways. I'm not an expert on Jerry Cantrell sound but I think you could close to his sound with the right pedals. The cabinet is very well build and works great with the amp with no pedals used. Haven't used pedals through it yet.

I think you're right. I foresee this being the 'gateway drug' for a lot of guitarists, leading them to covet and eventually buy Friedman's tube amps.

Well said. Pirce aside, just a solid bedroom amp, too.
Its a cool toy

Epic Gary Moore End of the World intro riff Nick snuck in. Well played Sir!

Awesome. i hope there's a demo coming for the new Mxr Raw Dawg. 😉
Super sweet! Soldano next please! ☠️☠️☠️🤟🏼
Just a day after I got my Friedman Od deluxe 🥲
Just as good, in fact you have 3 channels of BE this is just one big BE OD pedal.
You can pair it with a power amp pedal. Even better than an amp head.
@@judaspriestchild in find the od deluxe very noisy even when the gain at half I have to push my noise gate at max to get rid of the noise
Seems like a head version of the be-od deluxe that could power a cab.

Cool sound
Wouldn’t the Friedman pedal into a clean tube amp channel be better?
Not at low volume. If you can crank than yeah it sounds so aggressive and fun but at low volumes it's very metal zone pedal sound
It would be way better with a drummer and band setting but this little head is just awesome at 30 watts solid state it could actually be loud enough for lots of people playing at home with the radio and bars where they are small stages and then mic it if it's not loud enough !?
Great amp. I’ll buy one for sure for all those reasons. Can I go out to my board direct using the “return”
Send. Return is back into your amps power amp... you could use it or any amp with an fx loop as a slave power amp using the "return" jack.
Watch Michael Neilson from Big Hairy Guitars. He uses the FX loop “Send” and ran it through an IR. It sounded massive. The amp has a protected circuit for the power section. I’m looking forward to trying it through a tube power amp. Just for chits and giggles.
