one question. does the forklift manufacturer allow a pick to be performed with one fork alone? I have found companies that do this, end up having forks that are not uniform with each other.

Hi Stan! When you're using lifting slings on a set of forks, you'll wanna protect the slings from as much abrasion as possible. We just improvised some fork protectors out of duct tape of sling scraps from our sewing room. They do sell full-length protectors online if you interested in fully protecting your machinery or slings from damage.
