அரிசி அப்பளம் இப்படியும் செய்யலாம் (Arisi Appalam Type 2)

  • Ingredients
    Rice flour (Store bought Flour) 1 cup
    Javarisi (Sago) 2 tbl sp powdered finely in Mixer grinder
    mix the above ingredients and make a dough (like chappathi dough) with adding 1 cup of water and stream cook for 20 minutes after cooling press the dough with a stone or Poori kattai for few minutes then add sal half tsp and half tsp green chili paste and one lemon juice and mix well and press with the stone(iedikkardhu) apply some coconut oil on the dough and stone and make small balls and roll them like mediam size thin poori dry them under fan for 1 or 2 hours then sun dried minimum Half an hour to 1 hour and store them whenever you want fry them or roast them direct flame

    Madam very simple and great thank you. I face one prob while frying the arisi appalam it quickly over fried and become red. If I took before some parts not deep fried what to do madam pls tell

      If you heat oil over Appalam porikkum podhu sivakkum First heat oil in high flame then reduce the flame then only you should fry don't heat smoking level

      Make Thiratipal or sweets like jamoon, Rasmalai,etc if you not interested in sweets make paneer

    Tried your appalam today. Initially rolling thin was challenge. Then I rolled it in between two plastic sheets. Then I was able to roll thin. I have one question. Should I remove the seeds of the green chilli? It dried today itself and I fried one appalam. Everyone said awesome. Here in USA we don't get arisi appalam. I am happy that I am able to make it here. I used little less water may be two teaspoons than the equal amount of water and flour as u said. Thought the dough will be little loose. When I steamed it it became hard and I dipped my hand in warm water three times and then it became soft. I like your traditional recipes which are forgotten now. Are you there in Facebook, so that I can send the picture of my appalam

      Thanks for your immediate feedback 👍 if you remove seeds of Green chillies kaaram also less grind it very fine paste some more quantity you can use other recipies also I m in facebook serch Jayashree Jayshree

      S you can but if sun dried atleast half an hour otherwise if you deep fry it will come out light brown (sivakkum)
