Not sure what exactly you saw, as to this couple not connecting... Their entire dance performance embodied a direct connection and ultimate discipline... The connection, control, body positioning within the execution of that gorgeous suspension at :48-:58 was absolute connection, as she glided seamlessly... His positioning and balance of weight had to absolutely be percise for the illusion to deliver effortless.

Horrid dress but more to the point is there is very little connection between the dancers. They were dancing to the audience rather than to each other thru the music. I also felt the choreography didn’t match the song.
@@eddychong2212 Yes I know, I’ve competed Pro-Am. There were more than a few times where clearly our choreography didn’t seem to fit the music do we’d switch it up. If you’re truly connected you can change some of your choreography and change some parts on the fly.

In a Latin dance competition the judges pick a song to play and they just dance whatever their teachers taught them
