That is a more aggressive Willy than I imagined, but different people would have different interpretation on the characters. This might be how the director interprets Willy and I respect that. I think the actors did a great job!
@@megadethly It's not condescending. It's a comment underneath a performance of the play. It's perfectly understandable to assume a person might have only seen one or two prior performances and not taken in the play. Also people normalise aggression towards women so they don't see things as we see them.

I was a director for this play in my drama class. I watched the movie based on this play, but i need something more simple to visualize this play on stage. It was hard, the settings are complex, the characters are so hard to understand. We were overwhelmed to prepare this drama for only a month. It was a nightmare. But this video really help me a lot to simplify the play and how to make it work with limited equipment, budget, and time.

I am doing literature in English for the first time. Am i the only one who find this act confusing? I don't understand it very well. It's hard to figure out if the scenes are taking place into the present or the past.
I know it's two years, but for the sake of anyone else just as confused I'll point out that THAT is exactly the point. All the past imagery is Wally's recollections/fantasies/etc. This version may be a little bit harder to understand due to the lack of changing ages in the actors (because they're all young) and the low budget.
Willie's voice is good, but how he moves is so awkward, he needs to practice that, he keeps circling his arms around like a fuckin goose and he stands directly over her when they're arguing, other than that this is pretty good

Sounds like an actor’s stylistic choice is conflicting with your personal opinions about how people should act. This is good imo, because real life can happen like this. There are people that live fake lives in hopes of acting like someone they’re not and there are people who never even think about what they’re doing, so it never occurs to them that what they’re doing isn’t normal. It’s discouraging when actors instructors give the impression that realism is measured by its ability to engage the audience when realism to me is honestly just what we see. I guess that doesn’t always entertain people on stage though, even though this is a play set on a realistic acting approach.
