I enjoyed your video , and understand about the Yellow Jacket issue . I've been stung more than 500 times in my 55 years on this planet so far , and there more to come im sure . I've never been a fan of reality gem hunting or gold prospecting shows , and that's one reason I enjoyed your video , its real life at the moment , in the rain prospecting . Thanks for posting it .
there was a business that would buy a dumptruck load at a time and send it to the coast, sold buy the bucket and prob, lightly "salted". "BUT" i did find an emerald as big as a pencil eracer and real good clarity, single crystal.
You're selling the N.C. owners short by assuming they do not know what is in/on their property, such as the gold. Land owners whom allow others to 'mine' on their property do know like this are very aware of what can be found and after so many years of folks working that creek, etc, would have boasted in their ads if gold was there, simply to draw more paying visitors. It is also likely that owners would set aside no-go areas where there were particularly dense natural gemstones were found, for their own best interest. The next time you go prospecting, be sure to take the most powerful UV flashlights you can find, and make a black box, with a good viewing window that will keep out natural light, and a tight fitting port for the flashlight, plus lid. The interior should be flat black painted, no glossy surfaces, and you can put your small to medium stones into the box and look for florescence, as you work. This may up your retention of 'keepers' and help you id gem stones, crystals that you otherwise might just toss.
Just a suggestion.....more prospecting, less walking and talking about yellow jackets. Also having someone do the filming while you prospect would make for a better, more stable video.

Volume alternates from whisper to shouting. Keep your hand near the volum to protect your years!

Hiddenite, North Carolina
