Late to the party thanks to the start of the semester, and BOY have I been missing out! I really enjoyed the vibe of this track, it felt vaguely reminiscent of Mad House with that detuned music box and I'm lovin' it like Mickie D's. That line "watch 'em snap like rubber bands" was gold, and that pre-chorus is just so beautifully perfect, I can't stop listening to it! Also, big thanks for introducing me to Moxas, that dude spits some BARS! The only thing I'd critique, though this is pretty opinionated, is that the first verse is a bit repetitious, up until about 0:42 when the vocals aren't as monotonous. Don't get me wrong, I like that monotone style, but it felt like it was most of the entire first verse, which didn't leave much room for the more varying-tone lyrics. Again, my opinion only, I know some people like it. Still, though, this was some major fire! And Moxas' verse was just so slippery, ooh so good! Can't wait to see more work with him! #FF
Thank you, man! I really appreciate the attention to detail haha and I do agree, that first verse is pretty underwhelming! I actually did that intentionally, trying some songwriting tricks out. Wanted to kind of let the song build so it got even more interesting the further you listened! I still can dig that monotonous style from time to time and that's why I chose to use it! FabvL Definitely, I gotcha! And do whatever you like, man, if you like that flat style then totally do it! Knowing it was intentional is perfect, I just wanted to make sure you knew it sounded that way. I seriously dig different styles and techniques when it comes to lyrics, it’s such a great way to personalize and set apart lyrics from other works. Don’t think I’m criticizing your styles, I’ll just point out things that I find a bit out-of-place, even though I might be wrong and incorrectly label something intentionally-placed as weird. Do what you love, that’s what I want to see from you!
