    Thanks for sharing amazing video and insights. I believe shetland and Icelandic are one of the most ancient breeds. Their wool too is very durable. One character of ancient sheep i often hear is they naturally shed wool too. Is it true?

    I might have been drooling a little over the rooed fleece you showed. Just wow! Such dainty ladies. Glad to see you again.

      Thanks Jillaine - I finished my last sheep today, I think I'm going to miss it! Love the hands on time with the individual sheep.

      Hi Patricia - we put coats on them late in the summer when we start them on hay

    Very interesting. Is spinning rood fiber different than sheared?

    • @SoftShetlandWool
      @SoftShetlandWool  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I think the biggest difference is in preparation, I don't really notice a difference when spinning it.

    How do you know the right time to strip wool from a sheep?

    • @SoftShetlandWool
      @SoftShetlandWool  5 месяцев назад

      They have a natural break, so y ou just check them every so often to see if they've hit the break

    That sheep does not look like she's comfortable at all. At least shearing is done quicker.
