Ah the great Cow Cow! Love a long video I could talk about this stuff all day. The Real Cao Cao was probably one of the most talented leaders of not just China but probably the entire ancient world. He was skilled in war, poetry, art, politics and many other things. He could also be ruthless and cruel so he was also a very complex man. I think he was probaly aided by the strong base from which he came his father was an influential official and his grandfather was a powerful eunuch but undoubtedly he also made it work through his skills because Yuan Shao could be argued had a better starting point and failed. His agricultural policies in particular were very instrumental in stabilizing his territories. Villain or Hero, traitor or not Cao Cao saw the world falling apart and he took action wether people agreed with is methods or wether they liked him or not it didn't matter to him. In his own words: "Should I be destroyed, moreover, the whole realm will be in danger. I am not prepared to give up my life for a meaningless reputation. " I can't believe you don't like swords lol! I do especially the Jian type ones. Cao Cao is probably the best written character of the series. I think that's of note because Koei doesn't usually seem to put too much effort and also because they use to have a very pro-Shu viewpoint. He has the most fleshed out relationship and probably the most character development. This might be because of the quantity but not necesarily since there are characters like Sun Quan or Liu Bei who have had about the same screen time as Cao Cao but they're much more flat. Most of complaints with Cao Cao are minor or with his looks. I like his look in 4 best those spiky side hairs are so ugly looking. He's come a long way from just being "the bad guy" though I think this has created other issues for the series I do like that they've taken a more balanced and positive take with Cao Cao.
FOr sure, yeah not a fan of swords, never found the moveset captivating to me but nonetheless Cao Cao is a great character and definitely one of the most developed ones, now they just need to work on everyone else lol
now there is so much to say about Cao Cao but I will shorten it as much as I can, he was one of the greatest leaders that world ever seen, he was smart and he had talent for everything he did and he did make a lot of changes that have help people even to this day but what people don't realise what he did to get what he had and how did he achieve a lot of things he did achieve, lets not forget that small incident after failed attempts on Dong Zhuo's life, now I will not say what it was but lets say that it was bloody, people need to go and read about him but with all that said I think it is one of the best characters in DW games, not fan of playing with him that much but his story is always deep, it is refreshing to see character explored that much and represented as he was in history, nice of KOEI
For sure and I definitely dont mind the long comments, I love this game and everything about it! And same dont like playing as Cao Cao but love his story and ambition to get his goals
Romance of the Three Kingdoms definitely portrays him completely differently from the games. I also believe the assassination attempt on Dong Zhuo did happen, and when his assassination attempt failed he fled. Lu Bu gave chase, etc.
One of the best founding father in the Dynasty Warriors series, aside from Sima Yi. At first, I'm not liking his character in DW 3-5. But since DW 6, I love his character development so much. My quick assessment of him: - Moveset: DW 8-9 - VA: Douglas Rye (DW 5-8) ftw - Outfit: DW 6, 8, and 9 I love his association with Ice element and incorporated into his musou within DW 7-9. He has a diverse interaction with his retainers although running gag on pursuing married woman is better not to be discussed 😂😅
@@TheNightowlGaming Cao Cao laughed like crazy during his escape from Chibi and they keep on chasing him and he got intercepted by Guan Yu, only for him to let Cao Cao go unscathed.
@@TheNightowlGaming yep, imagine the chase scene from Kung Fu Hustle but replace Stephen Chow with Cao Cao from Three Kingdoms 2010 and the Landlady would be anyone from the WuShu Alliance
He was portrayed best in the Three Kingdoms 2010 series. Absolutely changed my view on the character and honesty like him more than Liu Bei and Sun Quan
The man, the myth, the legend, Cao Cao. Unwavering in his vision for the land. Willing to give every ounce of himself for his vision I do prefer Cao Pi's weapon style but damn it's close because he is such a awesome personality and he has Humility with Stoicism balance and his voice in 8 is nearly mystical in terms of quality. Probably the most popular hypothetical concepts was Cao Cao not killing Lu Bu and having him at the Battle of Guandu (Xtreme Legends 8 hypothetical) but I would like to see a similar effect to Cheng Gong in the Hypothetical of Lu Bu (he starts seeing the value of big brain power and everything is strangely fast) I would say if they do thing route on 10 you would have to consisting defeat Lu Bu on every stage he is on in the historical Cao Cao is also the one who unleashed Sima Yi by indirectly or directly getting him to get off his butt. That was like 5D Chess right there
The Cao Cao-Lü Bu has always interest me. I wonder if Lü Bu accepted Cao Cao and Vice versa would he have reached the heights of Zhang Liao, Wen Ping and Xu Huang
I know Ma Chao some where fell in love in dw5 In the name of justice farewell!!! Omg I know Ma Chao hates Cao Cao for killing his family and Wang Yi hates ma chao for killing her family crazy right!!!
I think the sequence of events is Cao Cao orders a western expedition-Ma Chao rebels- Ma Chao defeated at Tong pass- Cao Cao kills Ma Teng amd his family- Ma Chao launches another campaign- kills Zhao Yue(Wang Yi’s son) and Wei Kang- Defeated again- joins Shu
cao cao name is so well know with the fans from the early dynasty warriors and one of the founding father in china him was deeply skilled war poetry art and politics him understand how and why need to be a bad guy to do the right things for both the people and china to end the things of old in china for the future
So I played a lot w/friends DW3 and 4, and I got DW5:E (pretty nice game, I liked it) though I don't really remember Lu Bu being very hard in 5:E, I remember the shivers down the spines when we were playing 3 and 4 together when he showed up as a foe. Lot of times we just decided to flee around him without any problem😂 the thing I liked the most was the fact that he was indeed the strongest among anyone else to be against, but it was also stupidly OP to use 😂 that fairness of the game, was my favourite part
@@TheNightowlGaming Yeah sadly. They’ve always been my personal favourite, it goes Shu, Wu and then Wei. Its also pretty funny though because for a lot of the main events and how people people talk about the DW series, Wu is just kinda there its more so the 2 kingdoms Wei and Shu and then theres Wu although in the end Wu “won” or “succeeded” out of all 3 kingdoms in reality i think
I have really been enjoying watching all these character break downs and you make some very good statements. Except how you shrug off how bad the dynasty warrior 9 voices are. You state that they aren't as good in nearly every video but then say they are alright. We all know they are trash a huge leap backwards in quality and butcher the characters we love man you can say that no need to feel like saying that negative thing which is valid changes your perception. You just seem like being overly nice on something that doesn't deserve it.
No that's not it, just because during some of the later analysis's I learned the complications of the VA, one being that they had 1 or 2 takes to get all the dialogue right, which is insane! It's hard to get things right on the first takes. Im not trying to go after the VAs behind the characters its more of KT for making the choice to choose different VAs and rush it out for no apparent reason
