Hi Ryan, it's absolutely fantastic what you're doing here for all of us. It's unbelievable how dedicated and persistent you are in making extremely practical videos with valuable information. I can hardly wait until my RP5 is with me, it has now arrived in Germany from China. By the way: I'm 55 and I'm happy as a little boy - also thanks to your videos.
Finally got my RP5 today and wow what a machine! The latency is wonderful I can play the Series S versions of Stray, Space Marine 2, BG3, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 plus heaps more through xcloud! Most of them run 1080p 60fps which is perfect for RP5’s beautiful OLED screen. Much better than the switch versions too
A compatibility spreadsheet would definitely help a lot here. In addition to different emulators having different levels of compatibility, I've also heard from some that different drivers can also help. So it would be nice if there was a community testing to find the best results. A Discord would help a good bit as well!
I did see the comment on the original video. There's a Light Fix Mod for Dark Souls that's needed to fix that bug. Looks like another commenter here linked to a Roetaka video about it.
I ordered mine on 11/12 and it just hit the US today, should be here soon and can’t wait to customize mine with the help from this new channel! Ok would definitely join a Discord and also have little knowledge of it but this community is awesome and would love to get the most outta my device, great job Ryan! Keep them coming!
Sometimes mods can help as much as an update. In some rare cases, it might be the only way to get a playable experience by forcefully lowering the game's settings. Also it's possible to merge updates into the game and create a single game file to deal with, which is something you had to do with Skyline to play the updated versions of games
A discord would also be a great idea! I’ve found that these consoles are all about community and collaboration! I imagine we can get a lot of games working if we work together!
I think a discord could be a great idea, even if its just small and has a link for the spreadsheet that we could maybe copy ourselves but not edit yours, of course.
I suppose since Y--- is a Chinese citrus most associated with Japanese cuisine - in fact the only reason I recognized it in the first place is that there's a type of Ramune soda with that particular flavour, lol. And then I suppose the forks took inspiration - S----- itself being a Japanese citrus. There's also the matter of the 3DS emulator starting with C having been developed by the same team originally as Y--- and the Secret Console's OS being a continuation of the OS on the 3DS.
I wouldn't consider Stray playable on the Retroid Pocket 5. I have a Snapdragon 888 on my phone, and using Citron seems okay at first, but when you leave that beginning area and go down off that cliff, there's alot of graphical errors.
You can update your secret console XCI's and NSP's with the switch army knife (SAK) for windows instead of installing updates to the RP5, I had also had great success with the Ziunx emulator runs really good on the RP5.
Do you turn off the speed limit in the settings? I can get a lot of none bootable games to run once that’s off. I have that same Mesa Turnip driver you’re using. I can play NBB2K24 however the players are black. They only appear when overhead lights from when all the players meet before tip off. When the light hits them you can see the players in color.
Hi, could I ask if the screen flips? I have a Samsung tablet, so I'm used to flipping the screen to play the vertical games. On that device it would work fine especially with one of my favorites Ms. Pacman on final burn alpha.
Saludos
if you can share the spreadsheet please I've got plenty to add on too. also if you use a tool called NSCB you can compile your nsp files with updates and dlcs included in the same file so you dont have to install updates to your internal memory.
I'm such a big fan of yours! When watching you, one can feel all the hard work and passion you definitely put into producing this content. You've set your goals and ambitions straight, one can tell, and you're putting so much effort and elbow grease and time of the day into it. I'd like to express my utmost respect! Also, now there's a spreadsheet we can indirectly add to. How cool is that? Great idea. Perhaps a discord server might indeed be a good thing for you. Make sure you find some good mods to take a bit of that workload off your shoulders. Remember to take a breather from time to time! Stop and smell the flowers. Play some fun games in fun places. You've got a great, great thing going on here, and I'm happy to be a teeny tiny part of it. It's fun hearing you talk every day (I like your enthusiasm!), and I'm always looking forward to watching you when the day's work is done. 😅 Good thing you're now taking weekends off. Although I did miss the two uploads. ;) Keep on rocking. I'll be watching you. :D
Hi Ryan, this "secret console" has a lot of emulators actually, I made several tests and now seems Citron, Sudachi and Ryujinx (yes, the only android version works good but it's really unstable) are the relevant options now, but some of new titles can't work or won't load, but titles like Soul Reaver Remastered can be played on the RP5 but some others can't, but I really enjoy make those tests That spreadsheet would be available to see and update it with new titles? because that "secret console" has more than 5K titles...
Ugh, just remembered one of the things I hate most about Android, the constant refusal to use extra storage properly. Why do they act like SD cards don't exist and everything has to be jammed into a rapidly diminishing internal storage space by default?? and then sometimes they remove all options to move things to the SD. That said, there are a LOT of drivers, it's going to be be a bear of a task to test each one for each game.
If you want the games on the sd card. What i do is add the updates in my computer to the main game, creating a new .nsp file, with the program switch army knife. That way you have only one file. Look some tutorias on how to use the program.
For posterity I'll contribute to the compatibility list and add that Fear the Spotlight opens, runs and plays but crashes when the scene/room changes. Tested on Sudachi with Turnip and Qualcomm drivers. Was really looking forward to this one so if anyone finds a better way to go, count me interested! Tried booting on Citron but I have a feeling I've configured the emulator incorrectly. Edit: I did also play on 0.75x resolution but that may or may not be necessary. More thorough testing is needed :)
I think you may have meant to say "pull the trigger" which would imply you were almost about to buy one, whereas "pull the plug" usually means to kill something, or to stop doing it altogether.

You had me at "Spreadsheet" you fuggin legend.

Thanks so much for the nice comment - I wish I could grow as much as you have! Amazing work!

Best channel for RP5! Can't wait to receive mine and go through your setup tutorials. Thanks again!

Mine comes in today, and I plan on messing with it quite a bit this weekend. Thanks for the content Ryan!
You're welcome and I hope you love it!

Always happy to see your uploads :D
I'm happy to have you here!
Doing the lords work. I'd join your discord and contribute to the spreadsheet once I get my device.
Sounds awesome! I'll get it set up tomorrow!
Discord would be great mate!
The base rom on the 'secret' console will usually have v0 in the name. That's how you can see which is the update.
3:57 this doesn't work on mine.
Long press doesn't seem to bring out the individual game settings.
Quite sure this emu is the latest one.
Another awesome video, thanks Ryan! 🍻🤘🏼🔥
Thank you!
Ive seen one person in the retroid discord say there is no way to install switch updates on the sd card only on main storage
You can merge Switch updates and DLC into the main ROM file with tools on your PC. YANU is one example.
The fun fact about S-console emulators is that the ones beginning with Y, S, and C are all different varieties of citrus fruit.
Oh wow I didn't even know that! Is there a reason why emulators are always citrus fruits?
I suppose since Y--- is a Chinese citrus most associated with Japanese cuisine - in fact the only reason I recognized it in the first place is that there's a type of Ramune soda with that particular flavour, lol. And then I suppose the forks took inspiration - S----- itself being a Japanese citrus.

I want to find out if octopath traveler can run on the retroid pocket 5
By the way, I'd love to see how you get on with "It Takes Two" - but perhaps it 's best saved for a couch co-op focused video!
You can update your secret console XCI's and NSP's with the switch army knife (SAK) for windows instead of installing updates to the RP5, I had also had great success with the Ziunx emulator runs really good on the RP5.

How does Creature Crossing - New Skyline run?

Dark souls needs a lighting hack to fix the issue I resolved that very issue on the ayn Odin 2 using that method
Does Skyrim run better on winlator or secret emulation?

I recently downloaded the latest update for the Mini, problem is, Retroid launcher won't download any platforms!

Awesome - I'll get it setup tomorrow!
With Mario odyssey I watched that video I posted a link in your last video but Mario runs best with the MYd v24.2.0 Revision 21 driver

Hey Ryan, I didn't get any audio in Skyrim. Did you have this issue?
Discord 👍
the update files have to be in the sd card, then you install thru the sd card :D
About the Dark Souls comment: dude said this light problem is a known issue and can be solved installing a patch. Didn"t said where to find it
Love how you say Skyrim is always above 30 fps just as it shows 29.3 fps 😂😂
That happens almost every time I mention the frame rate of any game 😂
How can i get secret console games
Romancing saga2 can't play over ten minutes 🙏
try jump force

I was just about to pull the plug on a new switch lite when I saw this beauty, I feel saved by the gods of handhelds.
The chip in this is sadly too weak for switch games tbh. Also switch emulation progress has stagnated on Android 😢
I think you may have meant to say "pull the trigger" which would imply you were almost about to buy one, whereas "pull the plug" usually means to kill something, or to stop doing it altogether.
