Nature can be vicious. I feel bad for the baby. it's pure instinct. But damn nice to see that the others did not all starve or get shoved from the nests like so many do. Guess the cuckoo egg was laid late giving the mothers real babies the ability to hold their own.
I’m glad someone else feels bad for the cuckoo chick. It did nothing “wrong” it’s as desperate to survive as the other chicks There’s something really creepy and also sad to me how desperate and angry it gets. As it roars in what looks to my human eyes as desperate rage. I have never seen a bird act like that. I’m more than likely projecting too much onto this. But there’s something tragic about something born a “monster” and forced to revert into one as it is rejected. This whole thing just leaves a bad feeling.
@ciontachthecthonicchampion3576 You are not mistaken; emotions are very much real even in wild animals. The reason the cuckoo appears so furious is not out of simple hunger, but because of its instincts. Because the cuckoo has evolved to possess parasitic instincts, it instinctively knows that the birds that raise it are not its actual parents. Thus, unlike the other chicks, the cuckoo's singular impulse is to abuse and annoy the birds that raise it into giving it all the food possible, as it instinctively has no love for them.
The other babies make a different noise and have yellow mouths so it's quite obvious that the cuckoo chick isn't theirs and are avoiding feeding it, they know it's a parasite but feed it a little to get by so the mother cuckoo doesn't come and kill the other chicks and destroy the nest.. smart birds.
@@themanwhocantbemovedbyatru1988 Good point (something that I learned from your comment), it is like for humans as well. Only the mother is 100% sure the baby is hers. The father have to trust it is his unless he does a paternity test. Which makes me wonder why isn't a paternity test done mandatory after birth?
At first I could not tell the difference between the 4 chicks. The feathers and colour tones all look similar. Then I found that their beak colour differ. The 3 chicks have yellow beak and the parasite chick has slightly orangey colour beak. Good job, Mama Bird! 👍
This is the first time I have seen behavior like this. So the mothet bird found out that it's not her baby? How? Also, it's strange that cuckoo didn't manage to romve the eggs from the nest? What's going on? What's happened next? I'd love to see more!
Depends on the cocoo species. Cocoos are a very interesting species some do not push out their silblings, some do. Might also be an individual abnormality. Best guess is that the mother does not feel stimulated to feed the strange chick because she has the right stimuli in her nest (her own chicks) and they have a different color inside their mouth. Birds get stimulated by the pattern and colors inside the mouth of their chicks. There are some real wierd chicks with freaky mouth patterns out there.
@@JP-uf9sh Thanks! What about the other video in which the mother Cocco came to the nest and pushed the little chicks ( of the original nest) out? I thought the cocco would leave her eggs once she placed them on the host nest.
I've never enjoyed seeing a bird suffer as much as I did watching this video. Mom Bird: "Look, I didnt even know about this sleepover, but your mom didnt leave any food money for you. When is she picking you up again?" Cuckoo Chick: "Picking up?!"
what I noticed most from this video is how the parents, (because ye know this feeding is a two bird job) but how the parents take the faeces and flies away with them. We have a lot of swallows in my town, and it is so irritating how they just poop everywhere. So it is nice to see a bird with a toilet culture
The fact that the cuckoo chick has grown that much shows that it is being fed. I think the reason we see the parent birds feed their chicks and not the cuckoo chick is because they are calling for food at the right pitch that indicates they are hungry. Whereas the cuckoo chick is calling for food at a different pitch than the parent bird is used to. In other videos where we see parent birds feeding the cuckoo chick that’s cuz the really chicks were already starved or thrown out.
Unfortunately this is one of those made up videos. Someone put the chick in that nest long after it hatched, so it's not a surprise the mother is ignoring this giant hatchling it's not strong enough to get rid of.
Actually cukoo chicks are twice the size of the hosts birds chicks at birth, but due to instinct the mother can't discern the difference until its birds develop that bright yellow throat and at the point the mother will cease all feedings to the cukoo.
@@OukiLipsmaking shit up on the internet. apparently this was a wild nest this person found and set up a camera to watch. the cuckoo did hatch early and tried to push the eggs out of the next, but couldnt crack them because of the wall in the video and the fact that there was no long fall to damage the eggs, so they remained whole. the cuckoo is also unusually small because its only being fed by its dad, the mother refuses to feed it as shown in this video.
Fun fact, this bird evolved to be born with bright yellow throats as a way to deal with parasitic cukoo infestation. The mother will not recognize the bright red of the cukoos mouth and thus will instinctively starve it, while shoving food into the yellow ones.
Let's say your ancestors killed someone of the lower race 800 years ago. Quite possible! Would someone of that race killing you now be justice then? So fun to watch? Fun cuz it is not you who is suffering?
The Parasite: _"Why are you not feeding Mother"_ The Mother: _"Your not my child"_ The Parasite: _"I will non stop pecking you and block of your other child"_ The Mother: _"Don't Care"_
Okay fair enough to say that the mother bird wasn't impressed by the cuckoo bird begging, and blocked every go to come first before the others and yet still trying to inch forward in the nest the mother went, "nope" and fed her babies. The fact that I appreciate how she got so offended by tge baby cuckoo attacking her also seemed as if she was about to fight but kept her composure
This is an example of birds evolving to be smarter about what’s in their nest, on normal circumstances the mother would give all her attention to the Cuckoo baby but instead she ignores them and opts to feed only her own children, since in a normal circumstance the cuckoo would have thrown the babies out of the nest and increased the odds of outgrowing the nest entirely
Feel kinda bad for the cuckoo 😢 He didn't ask to be laid in that nest, poor baby is just hungry. As far as he's concerned, that's the only mother he's ever known.
This appears to be evolution in progress. The Cuckoo bird filled a niche by becoming a parasite in the nests of other bird species. But it seems some species have developed the ability to recognize an intruder in their nest and will not feed it.
kind of fascinating how everyone in these comments sort of demonizes the cuckoo, even going so far as to call it "pure evil" or wanting to feed it shit when in reality it's just another baby bird, no different than the others lol. they all just want to survive. not really its fault its mom decided to drop it off on somebody else's doorstep is it
Its dumb to aply human morality to animals, but its also human nauture to find this animal obnoxious, its like the panda, they did nothing wrong, but you kinda wanna see them go extinct
Remember that bird was placed there, it hatched and its clueless that its a parasite. It does things out of instinct because that's how nature programmed them. In a way its not the cuckoo bird fault i would be willing to bet that they genuinely think thats his mom
There is no blame in this situation. We filter the animal world through our morals sometimes. Manipulation, exploitation, especially it being so targeted, makes people a little bit more angry than usual. That chick, however, is designed to kill the rest of the chicks in the nest. I am secure in saying that that is a particularly evil animal. It's just so intimately cruel. I mean, too bad so sad? As long as both species populations are sustainable then I'll tolerate it.
He knows its not his true mom, it is rooted in instinct otherwise cuckoos wouldn't be able to meet their true kinds to reproduce, who they also never met before.
Yes if the mother's chicks survive without being tossed out of the nest, the mother is less likely to feed the cuckoo. She can identify her chicks by their appearance and cry. Though the cuckoo tries hard to mimicry, in this instance, the cuckoo is doomed.
The color of the inside of the mouth is different between the cuckoo and the other babies. I guess that's how the mother tells who to feed. Anyways, I thought cuckoos pushed the other babies and eggs out of the nest. I guess this is what happens if they don't?
In other circumstances, that'd be a bit funny, but in this case the "poo" are actually nutrients the chicks can't digest yet. Why would the mother give valuable nutrients to the cuckoo when she could eat it herself and be able to keep feeding her young?
Yeah. He doesn’t get why his “mother” is neglecting him. He’s bigger than the other chicks, so of course he is hungrier. But the mother bird won’t sacrifice her own offspring for him. Nature can be cruel
The Mother bird figured out cuckoo is an impostor and used creative ways to feed its babies, just amazing to watch. Still....the mother bird did not have the heart to throw the impostor out perhaps she will give him minimally possible till he leaves the next, so in that way mother bird is compassionate. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video, for once we have a smart mother bird.
Cuckoo: "But... but MEEEM! MEEEEEEM! MEEEEM!" Mama: "My name. Is not. Meem." Other chicks: "Don't worry Billy! I have something you can eat! HRRRRRGH!" Cuckoo: "AWH WEAK!"
Satisfying lol This warbler momma has probably already raised a cuckoo free nest so the cuckoo she has now is an obvious intruder. It may have tricked her for a while but shes clearly the wiser now 😂
The thing is that cuckoo is very healthy so clearly it's getting food. Don't forget that the cuckoo often gets quite large compared to the species they parasite on. The "mother" bird never knows the difference and will keep feeding it even if it's 2-3 or bigger in size.
That's not how it works sadly. The clips where the mother feeds the cuckoo are edited out, that's one healthy cuckoo if I ever saw one. The mistake this cuckoo did was not getting rid of the eggs(ie the competition). That's normally what they do. The mother can't tell the difference, they all smell the same. That's why cuckoos have been so successful. In some cases the cuckoo can become enormous compared to the bird feeding it. I had a book with cuckoos long ago and there was this funny picture of the mother bird sitting on the cuckoo and feeding it. The cuckoo was like 4-5 times the size of the "mother".
It's fascinating to watch the cuckoo interaction with mama , at some point it tried to peck mama leg but she just keep going as if saying I'm done raising another woman's child.
What the fuck did that little bird do? What is wrong with you? It is an innocent chick who didn't choose to be born like that. The fact you find this "satisfying" will condemn your soul.

Nature can be vicious. I feel bad for the baby. it's pure instinct. But damn nice to see that the others did not all starve or get shoved from the nests like so many do. Guess the cuckoo egg was laid late giving the mothers real babies the ability to hold their own.
That bird was still fed before. It's freaking huge.
I’m glad someone else feels bad for the cuckoo chick.
It did nothing “wrong” it’s as desperate to survive as the other chicks
There’s something really creepy and also sad to me how desperate and angry it gets.
Actually, the parents are not 100% sure. This is why they feed it but give it the lowest priority.
No, the mother knows its not her chickso she doesn't feed it. The father on the other hand can't distinguish it and feeds the cuckoo hatchling.
Do cuckoo parents monitor the nest for a successful fledge? I thought it was only the cowbird that did such.
Mother cuckoo still around? That one of a hell gangster
Parasite bird: Trying every trick in the book
Mother: *Get a job*
😂😂😂😂,
At first I could not tell the difference between the 4 chicks. The feathers and colour tones all look similar. Then I found that their beak colour differ. The 3 chicks have yellow beak and the parasite chick has slightly orangey colour beak. Good job, Mama Bird! 👍
I love how the mother just stares off thinking "what did I do wrong with this one?"
This is the first time I have seen behavior like this. So the mothet bird found out that it's not her baby? How? Also, it's strange that cuckoo didn't manage to romve the eggs from the nest? What's going on? What's happened next? I'd love to see more!
Probably hatched late..
It may have tried.but was unsuccessful
Nest is on the ground not on the tree. So it cant do anything
This is a clever mother bird. She seems to see that there is an imposter

Among us
I've never enjoyed seeing a bird suffer as much as I did watching this video.
Mom Bird: "Look, I didnt even know about this sleepover, but your mom didnt leave any food money for you. When is she picking you up again?"
Cuckoo Chick: "Picking up?!"
Its crazy how the baby started threatening and tried to bully the mom into feeding it.
what I noticed most from this video is how the parents, (because ye know this feeding is a two bird job) but how the parents take the faeces and flies away with them.
@@SemperRedany proof at all or just making shit up on the internet?
@@OukiLipsmaking shit up on the internet. apparently this was a wild nest this person found and set up a camera to watch. the cuckoo did hatch early and tried to push the eggs out of the next, but couldnt crack them because of the wall in the video and the fact that there was no long fall to damage the eggs, so they remained whole. the cuckoo is also unusually small because its only being fed by its dad, the mother refuses to feed it as shown in this video.

👍👍👍👍👍👍
Fun fact, this bird evolved to be born with bright yellow throats as a way to deal with parasitic cukoo infestation. The mother will not recognize the bright red of the cukoos mouth and thus will instinctively starve it, while shoving food into the yellow ones.
I want to know how far the rejection went. Like did the bird die or what
This one failed to evict the other chicks 😂. The mother is being fair feeding everyone
自分の子が判断できててとても賢い鳥ですね😊
Finally! JUSTICE!!! So fun to watch
Let's say your ancestors killed someone of the lower race 800 years ago. Quite possible! Would someone of that race killing you now be justice then? So fun to watch? Fun cuz it is not you who is suffering?
Parasite Cuckoo: Why don’t you love me like the others? 😅
The Parasite: _"Why are you not feeding Mother"_
The Mother: _"Your not my child"_
The Parasite: _"I will non stop pecking you and block of your other child"_
The Mother: _"Don't Care"_
It's probably just video editing out the cuckoo feeding parts because he sure looks healthy
there are other videos where he explains that the dad bird is feeding it, the mom though is wiser and recognized it as a parasite
That's cuz the dad feeds it
@@ebonimom6964 when a girl tricks you into paying child support for a kid that aint yours xD
Coocoos are a big bird. They are vicious even right out of the shell. They kick out all the unhatched eggs and the new borns.
Nevermind..i want see cuckoo not eat..haha
Mama Bird: Only my nice biological children get food.
It's good that the mother knows who her children is
Feel kinda bad for the cuckoo 😢 He didn't ask to be laid in that nest, poor baby is just hungry. As far as he's concerned, that's the only mother he's ever known.
I know right? It’s the only way it knows how to survive
Cuckoo birds don’t care about familial bonds. That’s how they’ve evolved to be parasites in the first place.
@creepercat8536her mother dropped her off, she thinks it's her mother 😢
I don’t even know who to feel bad for here. Yes, the cuckoo is a monster but it’s not like he can help it.
Exactly, at first I found it funny, then sad. Tragic.
For him, it's his mother. He hatched in that nest, and never saw his real mom. I woun't call him monster. He tries to survive
Yeah, in the end it's a baby that's gonna suffer thanks to it's real mother's shitty parenting skill
Id argue its easy to distinguish from the others during feeding because its mouth is not yellow inside like the others
Remember how you'd ask your parents which of their children was their favorite? This mom's not even TRYING to hide it.
Well done mommy!
This appears to be evolution in progress. The Cuckoo bird filled a niche by becoming a parasite in the nests of other bird species. But it seems some species have developed the ability to recognize an intruder in their nest and will not feed it.
Well, it looks well fed to me.
That is not evolution. The theory of evolution is based on the development of new genetics over time.
@@termgrecos3451Hey smartass, did you know that genetics and social behaviors in animals are the same thing?
It's called adaptation not evolution.
This is one of the most satisfying videos to watch. The cuckoo chick can't get any food.😅
Mom's like, "Timmy, your friend has overstayed his welcome and needs to leave."
Timmy's like, "Yo, I have never seen this man before in my life."
Tbh I can watch this all day it's so satisfying
His mouth is the wrong color. She knows who her babies are.
Isnt it also the difference in looks, size, and the cry/noise they make
kind of fascinating how everyone in these comments sort of demonizes the cuckoo, even going so far as to call it "pure evil" or wanting to feed it shit when in reality it's just another baby bird, no different than the others lol. they all just want to survive. not really its fault its mom decided to drop it off on somebody else's doorstep is it
Its dumb to aply human morality to animals, but its also human nauture to find this animal obnoxious, its like the panda, they did nothing wrong, but you kinda wanna see them go extinct
It’s like the bird knew it wasn’t its child. Great video. 謝謝你的視頻
Remember that bird was placed there, it hatched and its clueless that its a parasite. It does things out of instinct because that's how nature programmed them. In a way its not the cuckoo bird fault i would be willing to bet that they genuinely think thats his mom
Yes, from its perspective, mom just keeps ignoring it for some reason. It likely doesn't understand what's happening, why is it being mistreated.
The mom is a smart bird, can recognize her own kids
So beautiful ❤❤❤❤
The mother knows which ones are her babies lol. Sorry cuckoo monster.
I love how the Cuckoo desperately tries to get all the attention meanwhile the parent just looks at it like 😐
When the little chubbo pecks at her and she just stares him back with one eye like 🧐 not acknowledging his behavior at all 😂
Siblings: "Dontcha worry big bro. You can always eat my sh*t."
What a sonovabich, it's attacks the mother when not get feed XD
I wish the videos were longer. I don''t mind it not being edited.
Smartest mommy bird i've ever seen👍
Verygood 💓💓💓👍👍
I'm surprised that, with her displaying the apparent knowledge of the cuckoo not being of her own clutch, she doesn't drag it out of the nest.
It would risk the real Cuckoo parent coming and destroying the nest. They do that if they figure out that the host wasn't taking care of their child.
@@hootax8980 Fascinating.

priceless do not feed the usurper...!
I love this mama bird ❤ ❤️ 😍
Yes if the mother's chicks survive without being tossed out of the nest, the mother is less likely to feed the cuckoo. She can identify her chicks by their appearance and cry. Though the cuckoo tries hard to mimicry, in this instance, the cuckoo is doomed.
The color of the inside of the mouth is different between the cuckoo and the other babies. I guess that's how the mother tells who to feed. Anyways, I thought cuckoos pushed the other babies and eggs out of the nest. I guess this is what happens if they don't?
It’s good and all that the mother and her babies triumph, but starvation is a terrible death. Can’t help but feel sorry for the cuckoo.
I always hate how cuckoos bite at their parent.
この親鳥はとても賢い。
素晴らしいです。
if I were the mummy bird, I would feed the cuckoo bird with my children's poo😉😝
LOL, great idea! 😂😅
I was thinking that too. As a matter of fact I was thinking why don't birds do that.
Munch munch.......munch... This tastes funny... Can't quiet distinguish the flavor?
In other circumstances, that'd be a bit funny, but in this case the "poo" are actually nutrients the chicks can't digest yet. Why would the mother give valuable nutrients to the cuckoo when she could eat it herself and be able to keep feeding her young?
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Feel kinda bad for cuckoo honestly. Not like they asked to be born like that
Yeah. He doesn’t get why his “mother” is neglecting him. He’s bigger than the other chicks, so of course he is hungrier. But the mother bird won’t sacrifice her own offspring for him.
Nature can be cruel
Very smart momma, tho I do kinda feel bad for the cuckoo chick, still that's nature I guess. Stay frosty!
The Cuckoo trying deperately to block the birds for the mother to feed it.
Should be called a dodo bird, since it wasn't smart enough to tell that mother bird outsmarted it.
😂 😂 😂 finally a smart mother bird!
The mother's like: " Oh, what? There was another baby in this nest? I didn't give birth to no forth baby! Go find your own food!"
Natureza maravilhosa 😊😅
Cuckoo: "But... but MEEEM! MEEEEEEM! MEEEEM!"
Mama: "My name. Is not. Meem."
Other chicks: "Don't worry Billy! I have something you can eat! HRRRRRGH!"
Cuckoo: "AWH WEAK!"
Satisfying lol
This warbler momma has probably already raised a cuckoo free nest so the cuckoo she has now is an obvious intruder.
It may have tricked her for a while but shes clearly the wiser now 😂
So many comments calling the cuckoo a monster. Does no one feel bad for it? It's only doing what it's instincts are.
I kind of do... It's sad watching a baby slowly starve. Regardless of the nature of how the offspring is even on the best in the first place...
Sad yes until the parasite's parent arrives doesn't see their kid and then kills the host bird children.
Dem birds are getting smart XD
Now if only all the parent birds behaved like this mother. What would the cuckoo do?
Go all mob boss on the entire nest probably. That's the only reason the mother bird isn't totally getting rid of the parasite.
它们必须改掉这种损人利己的生存方式。
The thing is that cuckoo is very healthy so clearly it's getting food. Don't forget that the cuckoo often gets quite large compared to the species they parasite on. The "mother" bird never knows the difference and will keep feeding it even if it's 2-3 or bigger in size.
The parent birds still feed it, the fact that it still remains on the nest, but is given the lowest priority.
'Nice Guys' when they don't get their way though remind me of this Cuckoo
🎶One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn't belong.🎶
The mother can tell it's different by how it's acting
The beak color stimulates the parents Bird to feed its young. The parasite chick has an orange beak, while the other chicks are yellow.
Need a part 2 where the mama starts throwing hands
Smart mama bird 😂
It's fascinating to watch the cuckoo interaction with mama , at some point it tried to peck mama leg but she just keep going as if saying I'm done raising another woman's child.
Getting a taste of its own medicine. So satisfying.
What the fuck did that little bird do? What is wrong with you? It is an innocent chick who didn't choose to be born like that.
The fact you find this "satisfying" will condemn your soul.
Yup, from now on if I ever see a cuckoo invading a nest and kicking smaller chicks out of it, my precision pellet rifle is comin out. and justice will be done upon the perpetrator.
