Kati, you are awesome. Thank you for doing these AKA episodes. I am sure a lot of us that watch/listen have a history of trauma due to abuse of all kinds, including sexual abuse (as children and adults). I really appreciated how you handled Q5... "punched in the throat, spit on, thrown out of a moving train". It is nice to get that sort of validation from someone in your position. I am lucky to have a wonderful therapist that is helping me navigate this healing journey. You have also been of great help to me and continue to do so. Keep going! Thank you!

Thanks for the answers for question #4. I've been struggling myself with the shame and blame from a sexual assault. This has given me a new way to look at it and something to think on.

Regarding the assault on the train in Q4, one thing I thought of is bystander training. We all want to be the one to step in and help someone who is being hurt in public but we can get frozen because we don’t know what exactly to do. It’s usually a shock when something happens, and you don’t have time to brainstorm what to do in the moment. And then the fact that nobody else is doing anything can make everyone not do anything because they assume the rest of the crowd is a good guide. If you can be the one to even just yell stop, leave her alone, could help the whole crowd break out of it. And thinking it through ahead of time and practicing what you can do if that happens can help with that.

How to distinguish between "food insecurity" and an eating disorder? How do I know if I'm not eating enough because it's a disorder or because I'm just not trying hard enough with the financial limits I have? I'm on food stamps, I use food pantries, and it's just not enough to really function day to day confident I'll have enough so I end up budgeting for food based on how little energy I can get away with using physically and it's become weird. I know it's not healthy but I don't know what to call it.

The person leaving all those comments from different accounts is either very troubled, very imaginative or a troll. Suicide in a therapist's office? Eating disorder caused by the person themselves abusing children? Huh? 😬

Yeah. It made me think they had done something really bad, or more likely they had intrusive thoughts about doing something bad that they were afraid to share. I hope the answer Kati gave helped them.

So I guess my mom and step dad should be in jail for abusing me for years and years, well then my biological dad to but well he's already locked up in a mental health hospital already because he's psychotic, and I guess I'm an idiot for not reporting them, well no not necessarily, because I was mainly just to afraid to report, and also sometimes they would even convince me that I deserved it, MAYBEY I am an idiot though or an a hole, because well in the past I have hurt kids, now I might of not even known better, or angry at people because of all the crap people put me through, I might of been quote young and dumb, but that's no excuse maybe I would be better off in prison or dead, sometimes I even have thoughts that I should die a horrific death. I think most people who do bad things hurt kids should either get some help locked up getting, help, and well some do deserve to die, but most need help either jail or treatment facility, there are some people out there though who do deserve to die, like satanic cults who sacrifice children or horrific human child trafficking rings, yah they probably deserve to die painfully, but most people who do bad things deserve locked up in prison or treatment.
