"The IBBC is a bank. Their objective isn't to control the conflict, it's to control the debt that the conflict produces. You see, the real value of a conflict, the true value, is in the debt that it creates. You control the debt, you control everything. You find this upsetting, yes? But this is the very essence of the banking industry, to make us all, whether we be nations or individuals, slaves to debt. "
Thanks captain obvious much obliged for your input. Had you not taken first year of college courses and posted it on a movie trailer we may have been completely blinded. You deserve a medal
@@quasar960 you feel insulted and I am not sure why, nor am I interested to know why. The movie is still relevant if you are wondering that, by the way.
This is a great film and very entertaining...but it is also an important film as well, because it is true, and exposes the filthy underbelly of Corporatism, which is still in power globally today:
Wow this film's production seems like a mess, they had test screenings that found the initial cut way too boring and dry, so the producers added the Guggenheim Shootout and decided to market it as an action thriller, but you can see by this trailer they really didn't believe in the final film with shooting additional footage for the trailer only with the ATM, and even including additional stock footage from Black Hawk Down it seems. You can tell they didn't have a united vision of how the movie turned out, thank goodness they had Tom Twyker to help atleast make it a very entertaining movie, but it's nowhere near as clever as it wants to be. I'd love to see the original espionage cut, because you can almost tell where the reshoots start when the Hitman is shot in his bullet proof vest and is shot in the exact same spot at the end of the shootout, it seems originally he's shot when they try to arrest him and the only hitmen are gunned down by Clive after he grabs that detective's gun, he then tends to the hitman and lets the detective die alone because he wants to get the answers from the dying hitman, so probably created a heavier more dramatic moment that was more grounded. I love the shootout for what it is, and I honestly think it's probably the best part of the movie, and I find The Hitman and Clive Owen have so much chemistry in their unspoken cooperation that I thought that should have been the movie they actually made, a story of an Agent who's tired of trying to play by the rules against an enemy that's untouchable, who teams up with a ruthless, professional, but guilt ridden Hitman looking for redemption and both pool their resources together to gain redemption.

This a highly underrated surprisingly well done action-suspense-thiller film. Many worthwhile quotes.
The IMF, BIS, & World Bank does the same thing. "The value is in the debt". -- From the movie "The International".
