Great honest review. I imported mine from Japan around 3 years ago and is the best car I have ever owned, so raw and will never see the like of it again due to emission regs in the U.K.
"Filmed in Mexico" is a common saying used on videos that feature excessive speed or illegal driving because the laws are far more leniant and the cops don't care in mexico as opposed to the country this was filmed in.
Greetings from the U.K, some of those roads youre driving look awesome! Nothing like pushing it up to the limiter. and in the bends they feel so planted and inspire a lot of confidence :) JDM Type R Owner.
Great video! Just wandering what mountain passes you drove on as I live in Wollongong and I could only recognise Mount Keira Road. Will be getting my red P's soon and really hoping to own a Honda Integra Type R/S now, even more so after watching this brilliant video
Thanks heaps for your comment! Sorry i'm late i completely missed it. Yep Mount Keira Road was right, the next one was Jambaroo road (more commonly Jambaroo pass) that takes you from Albion park to Kiama. I highly recommend these, they are great P plater cars, good on fuel and one of the fastest you can own.
Hey Anthony thanks for you comment. Just make sure you find one with log books, receipts for services and maintenance so you know it's more likely to be reliable. Let's be real, everyone hoons these cars so you won't find an unthrashed one, but what you can do is find one that has been taken cared for and had the oil changed frequently.
Thanks for the comment. :) Not much of a build, it has: BC coilovers Lightened flywheel Exedy heavy dutcy clutch and some good quality tyres. That's it :)
Straight away I knew you were Aussie. Australian footage is very distinct. EP3R owner here. I spy a Tegiwa intake hose. What was on the end of that before? :)
I feel ya, i can recognise aussie videos too. Our road signs and trees are so iconic if you live here. Not too sure about the engine bay the previous owner told me it was untouched "performance wise." Thanks for the comment :)
+Zac did you buy the car as is? if he had those wheels and coilovers... there's a high chance it's had engine mods. does it have an aftermarket exhaust?
Zac That's the way I do things .Don't get me wrong , this car looks great, sounds great and it seems it drives great but I want a car that you don't see that much.
sorry but youve been played it has no brembo brakes and the cluster doesnt say "Type R" on it so i dont think it is also im almost positive all k20 dc5 type R's have a red engine valve cover....
Read the comments buddy, you're not the first to point it out. Like i said in the video, it's the Type R the Australian market got.

Australian version did not have full JDM specifications, brakes, engine K20A 220hp is replaced with K20A2 200 hp ...that's why I said it is not a proper type r. Of course, it's a great car!
Zac I own a 2003 Type R I kno the difference. Where's your brembos where's the jdm k20 A where's the Type R gauges. If that is what they marketed as the Type R in Australia then you guys got a watered down version, yours looks like a manual Type S with some bits of the Type R interior installed.
Great honest review.

Thanks for the comment. :)
I am unfamiliar with the regulations in the UK but i definitely agree this car is incredible to drive.
+Zac. It means that the 9000rpm days are long gone now, hence the new civic being turbo'd, the Fd2 Civic and late S2000's was the fond farewell.
At least we can appreciate what we still have available to us.
awesome review probably one of the best dc5 type reviews on youtube
Thanks man! Best comment i've received so far :D
btw this is a AUDM type but u wrote in description it was filmed in Mexico so do you live in Mexico and import this car from Australia
"Filmed in Mexico" is a common saying used on videos that feature excessive speed or illegal driving because the laws are far more leniant and the cops don't care in mexico as opposed to the country this was filmed in.
It's sort of an inside joke
ahaha ok
Greetings from the U.K, some of those roads youre driving look awesome! Nothing like pushing it up to the limiter. and in the bends they feel so planted and inspire a lot of confidence :)
JDM Type R Owner.
We do have some long and winding roads here in Australia :) I'm sure the UK has some good ones too
There's is some, although there's quite a lot of holes in most! What's the engine code in yours? Is that specific to Australia?
+BAD3GG It's a K20A2, i believe we got the 200bhp engine whereas Japan got the 220bhp

It's for sale again lol
Still love it, but it's time to move on :)
Turbo awd
Already had a '00 GC8 before this. Funny you say that though. Couple days ago i bought a Turbo AWD Mazda 6 MPS.
great review
appreciate it my man
Ya, mines set to 8500 with flashpro. not the fastest car by any means but puts a smile on your face
Damn straight. You might not win a lot of drag races but hooning past 8000 RPM for cheap doesn't get much better than a Honda Integra
dc5r integras arent exactly cheap anymore lol, 15k+ for a clean one, 10k for a fucked up one.
Great video man, any tips for buying a DC5 here in Aus? Planning to get one as my next car :)

Amazing review! Have you got a link to a build thread? Love the car :)
Thanks for the comment. :)
Not much of a build, it has:
BC coilovers
Lightened flywheel
Exedy heavy dutcy clutch
and some good quality tyres. That's it :)

+Zac did you buy the car as is? if he had those wheels and coilovers... there's a high chance it's had engine mods. does it have an aftermarket exhaust?
Bought it as is.
Stock exhaust, only mods are a lightened flywheel and an exedy heavy duty clutch as far as i know
no engine mods haha
+Datder Dastric Yup Datder this is a nearly stock example
you can get 200kw on this with k24 block, drag cartel cam, rrc manifold and hondata

+keian Mcneil I'm subscribed now, so you legally have to make that video
lol vtec engagement at 1500... you know your shit
It engages at 5800 RPM in the K20A2. That's what i said but i didn't communicate it clearly, ended up coming out like 1500 -.-
Yeah..seem a lot of people in australia & uk buy them so I'll just cut this car off my list.. yeah
Are you saying you're choosing not to buy this car because it's common?
Zac That's the way I do things .Don't get me wrong , this car looks great, sounds great and it seems it drives great but I want a car that you don't see that much.
+Yellow Waffle I understand, Yellow Waffle.
headlights milky, need polish
are you the guy from nsw lol
i am from NSW
this vid just popped up on my homepage and i was like tf another identical dc5
+MCinterceptor OH now i understand hahahahaha hey man. You're the guy with the MCM chopped fingers on the fuel cap and bronze XD9 rims.

easy heel toe....... a shot of you not heel toeing.
I keep watching that back thinking "WHY DID I NOT ACTUALLY HEAL TOE"
not type r
Long Chan it is a Type R bud!
sorry but youve been played it has no brembo brakes and the cluster doesnt say "Type R" on it so i dont think it is also im almost positive all k20 dc5 type R's have a red engine valve cover....
Yeah it isn't I dont understand why lie haha
Brendan Smith AUDM didnt come with Brembos on their type r's.. nor the Type R cluster, please do your research kid
Coda5610 haha aggressive huh? Didn't realize the audm version practically a us type s
This is not Type R.
Read the comments buddy, you're not the first to point it out.

We don't have 100 octane in Aus . So type r detuned
Thanks Ben i didn't know that
Not Type R
Reeaz Mohammed Care to elaborate?

Yes this is an Australian delivered DC5 not a Japanese
