    I think its much better to say that the other ingredients isn’t available in your area, more than saying they’re much “healthier” because the vegetable that are in the original sinigang are all healthy unless you could breakdown all the nutrients from yours compared to the others. Just a fact very important nutrient components of turmeric loses its bioavailability when heated.

    • @BabsiCooks
      @BabsiCooks  4 месяца назад +1

      I hear you but that’s why I said “healthier” because adding more vegetables and spices does increase more nutrients.. You can do the math.
      Also regarding the loss of nutrients from the turmeric, you left out this part:
      “Cooking turmeric for just a few minutes does not reduce its nutritional value, but boiling turmeric over high heat or pressure cooking it reduces the effectiveness of Curcumin. However, cooking it for a small duration and pairing it with souring agents may help in better absorption of Curcumin in the body”
      This is a sinigang dish with a whole lot of souring agent which is tamarind. Therefore your fact regarding turmeric is not relevant to this dish. Maybe others sure. However don’t give me a fact but leave out the rest because its not always black and white.
      But I do appreciate your opinion.

    The truth is, Garlic is not an ingredient for the usual Sinigang (Pork, Beef, and Shrimp) unless you are cooking Salmon Sinigang in Miso. Onion Tomato, and Tamarind paste are the main. Yours is another "foreigner's" variation.

    • @BabsiCooks
      @BabsiCooks  4 месяца назад +2

      So?? Of course it’s a foreigner variation. My husband is a foreigner not a Filipino. Nothing wrong with that. Plus you can never go wrong with adding garlic. I actually recommend it. 😏

    Garlic on steak on sinigang?
    Corn, squash or camote?
    Di na yan sinigang- INABRAW NA YAN
