LIVE: UN Security Council meets over deepening Lebanon crisis after device explosions

The United Nations Security Council holds an emergency meeting after Israel killed a top Hezbollah commander and other senior figures in the Lebanese movement in an airstrike on Beirut, vowing to press on with a new military campaign until it is able to secure the area around the Lebanese border. The intense barrage followed attacks earlier in the week attributed by Lebanon and Hezbollah to Israel that blew up Hezbollah walkie-talkie radios and pagers, killing 37 people and wounding thousands in Lebanon.
