This...this is the one i was most looking forward to. And I absolutely love it. Like grievous himself, you have to be on the attack constantly and you can cowardly do some stuff when you are backed up against the wall. I love it
It’s important to play your ally’s as quick as possible whenever possible so that you may use them to destroy the heroes or use them for scrap to use your effects. Some players won’t fate you on purpose, that’s when your condition cards will come in handy. 😅 I wanna say General Grievous is a good starting character for anyone wanting to play villainous. 🙌🏽 Good job and thank you for making the time for making these videos. 🙂
I appreciate that so much! Yeah I got a whole series on SW villainous / marvel and Disney :) and some other games! Hopefully you can find some more enjoyment in my content
Oh right, Mace Windu crushed Grievous' chest plate (I think) in Genndy Tartakovsky's Star Wars Clone Wars series. I don't know if Disney counts it as canon, because I think an explanation was given that Grievous' cough is due to his internal organs unable to adjust to his cybernetic body.
I have a question for villains like Grievous or Hook; when you place a Hero in your own sector do you have to do the negative effect that comes with it? I've been doing it until now but I have heard that it is not compulsory.
Depending on the wording of the card this will differ. If a hero’s effect says may, you can choose not to use this ability but if not, then the ability must be resolved. Hope this helps
To add on, iirc I heard in Star Wars you have Play VS Place. Generally a villain bringing their own fate out will Place them which specifically does NOT trigger "when played" effects.
I just won as General Grievous, but I was playing my poor dear mother, but she's really good at card games. Here's what happened. She didn't know what she was doing, so I helped her every step of the way and she got better and better and better and she was playing Asajj Ventress and she had to get those 3 missions done. And she was on her last mission and she would have done it, but old GRIEVOUS got the last LIGHTSABER and I won, I love this game. I'm playing it on my days off with a couple of friends that live not too far from me. And we're gonna try the expansion set to WITH Darth Maul. I think I like his idea. I think he has to turn one hero against another hero. Just one in the game and you win😄
@@LordoftheBoard Fantastic video! I was most looking forward to GG and from his victory condition (so thematic!!!) right on down to each card he looks so much fun. Can’t wait to get this game to the table.

I have the same question now that I got this game, thanks!
It depends if the card says to "play" or "place" a hero. If it says play, then any on-play effects are applied, but you can choose how they are applied. For example, if the hero ability says that, when they are played, you can move allies to a new location, you would decide how those allies are moved, because you were the one who played the card on yourself. If the ability says "you may" do something when they are played, then you can decide if you want to do that or not. Otherwise you have to do the effect when a hero is played, even on yourself. If it says place, then no on-play effects are applied. Any passive effects, that are always active when a hero is in play, will still be in effect though, until they are defeated. Hope that helps clarify things.
You are unable to play the card unless there is a hero. As it says your opponent must play a hero from the discard. And why I say get a hero to the discard quick!
They stack on top of what you have. You only draw up to a hand of 4 if you have less than 4 cards. so in this case you would have a large hand of cards!
Vader: Kill your own son to maintain your position in the Empire Ventress: Take on deadly missions to serve your dark master Gideon: Capture and experiment on a child to grow you army Kylo: Reject all signs of your past good self, destroy your enemies and rule everything. Grievous: YOUR LIGHTSABER WILL MAKE A FINE ADDITION TO MY COLLECTION
@@LordoftheBoard nah, don't worry. I could buy the English editions right now, but I'd rather wait since it's harder to find people willing to play in English lol. Since we're on a similar subject, the Spanish Edition of Despicable Plots comes with all the poor wording and "misprints" present in the original. Like, you'd expect someone to check on that stuff since it's like 2 years between releases, but no.
Random question: What are the names of the music you use in your Star Wars Villainous videos? More specifically when you transition between the different card types? I have heard this music in a number of other RUclips videos, but can never figure out the name to find them. PS. Love all your explanation videos as a fan of all the Villainous board game sets! 👍
@@LordoftheBoard Well, I lucked out 🍀 and figured out the other track was “Ready to March” to save you some trouble.👌 Thanks again, your help has managed to help me find these music tracks that eluded me for a very long time! Lol
@Lord of the Board well Spiderman has no protection. Was playing against Masque and Loki. Masque cam snipe Spiderman putting Spiderman in discard, and Loki can pay mischef to do the same. Nowhere does it say that Spiderman's strength remains at the level you bring it down to if removed from play, as a hero, tokens can't be used to protect Spiderman from discard. Also, if I was to play against Thanos, the tokens could protect a held stone indwfinatly At least these are things we found
@Lord of the Board tried again against Taskmaster, who just took Spiderman and vanquished in his realm I know we'll get a second Spiderman in the upcoming expansion, but that won't be very helpful, it'll just be another quick target for adversaries We thought about using tokens as protection ad they work for Allies, but then the villians who can attack any/all heros at will slow down Venom's progress without sweating and benefiting themselves, we even made a token never count as a vendetta, but a trigger happy Masque can extend the game so much.
I see it more as him getting both Kit and his apprentice Nadhar’s lightsabers from that episode’s final confrontation so I think it still lands thematically.
This...this is the one i was most looking forward to. And I absolutely love it. Like grievous himself, you have to be on the attack constantly and you can cowardly do some stuff when you are backed up against the wall. I love it

Another great video! Will you be ranking these villains too?
Eventually - I am hoping for more
When Mace Windu is vanquished, do the remaining allies lose the -1 or do they remain?
I got a question about Trained in the Jedi Arts. If there are no heroes in the discard pile, what happens if it's played?
You are unable to play the card unless there is a hero. As it says your opponent must play a hero from the discard. And why I say get a hero to the discard quick!
So I'm still confused with two cards kylo uses. Draw 5 and draw 3. Do you discard what you have and draw 5 or 3 or do they stack on top what you have?
They stack on top of what you have. You only draw up to a hand of 4 if you have less than 4 cards. so in this case you would have a large hand of cards!
Vader: Kill your own son to maintain your position in the Empire
Ventress: Take on deadly missions to serve your dark master
Gideon: Capture and experiment on a child to grow you army

Grievous: YOUR LIGHTSABER WILL MAKE A FINE ADDITION TO MY COLLECTION
Absolute gold
anyone know the release date
July 31st! :)
I’m very confused, isn’t it basically impossible to win if your opponent does not fate you? Someone pleas help lmao
100% correct. Grievous guarantees you'll never get Fated. The character is fundamentally broken.
Nope. There are cards to force heroes to be played into your sector - count dookus orders
@@digitalchicanery broken? you can pull heros yourself. Did you even watch the video?
Man, it's probably gonna be 2 years before this comes to Spain. Not even Loki is here (Last one to arrive was Gaston).

Kinda not thematically fitting that Kit Fisto gives him two lightsabers, but I guess they needed another one with a higher reward.
Yeah sometimes game balance matters more
