it truly is sad to know that this project is over. every time i share something from y'all, it pains me to have to preface it by saying that it ended. the music you performed, the places you performed, it was all so powerful. i know all of you are out there still doing good things, please never stop.
I'm so glad I found Bent Knee. I love the band's innovation and experiments and they came up with an unbelievable melody here. When I found out it is about depression, which I suffer from, I wanted to explore and create my own emotions and understanding generated by the song. To me the song represents an escape into better feelings and leaving depression behind. Thanks to the originator of this amazing piece of art.
If at all possible, I hope there will be more of these one day! I love every unique performance I've seen from this channel and I really would love to see more 😭
I'm so grateful for having the opportunity to experience such a exquisite performance in such gorgeous scenery and to visit the very beautiful completely other world captured on a camera then produced into a video. this is bonkers!
I think I needed this at the start of the pandemic. I was in a dark place then, and this might've helped. But right now, I don't care, because I think I needed it even more today. Keep kicking ass guys, this performance of an already incredible song was incredible in and of itself.
He's the guitarist on the top left at 2:35 - he drops the guitar, runs over to the other side and picks up the violin. It took me a few tries but he helped me understand the whole layout lmao.
Try the version by Justice Cow (the bassist in this video): justicecow.bandcamp.com/track/black-tar-water . It's a little more subdued than the BK version but it's a gorgeous song either way. Courtney's voice seems to be an acquired taste for many but damn is it worth acquiring!

Wonderful: Only here and now!
Fantastic, it would be great to hear some of Bent Knee's stuff with even more orchestration.
I'm so grateful for having the opportunity to experience such a exquisite performance in such gorgeous scenery and to visit the very beautiful completely other world captured on a camera then produced into a video. this is bonkers!
Immediate like and favourite. This, the full BK version and the Justice Cow version are all mesmerising - it's just fundamentally an amazing song.
thanks! I didn't know the JC version. I love Jessica! "Thank you, hello!" and "Quone" on spotify please! :D
What's the JC version? Much as I love BK I cannot wade through the weirdness that is JC...
This made me listen to the original. This arrangement is wayyyy better. Great performance! Gonna get some Bent Knee on iTunes!
You all are so talented! I love your content and I cant wait for another video :>
They need to make a Nobel prize category for whatever witchcraft the person/people who recorded this are engaged in.
setting, arrangement, performance, mix. lovely
I had chills all the way... this is amazing
this feels somehow even more real than the original recording...

Did you see the violinist in a white shirt who runs back to his seat at the last second before joining in for the final chorus? :D

Wait a second.. What was that last arrangement when the credits started?? So beautiful.
I get a feeling it's constructed from the stems of the main take? Either way it's a piece of art on its own, for sure!
It is indeed beautiful.

So uh….is the gimmick done posting videos?
This version feels a bit messy. too many instruments/sounds going on at once.
Love the tune but I really do not like the voice.
shut up
