NSN Webinar: Stromatolites: Windows into the Ancient Earth

I have about a hundred from the cliffs of Qiddiya near Riyadh Saudi Arabia where 200 million years ago they were formed around the rim of the cliffs in the Tethys sea

Fossilize, well mushroom cloud stromatolites are along the Tuwaiq mountain near Qiddiya. They are being wiped out by earth moving equipment to built a huge Disney land type park. But these all line the edge of the 200 m cliffs and show exactly where the shallow waters of the Tethys sea. And they have tall columnar, mushroom shapes, lots and lots. They have iron in them.
