Thanks to this series i am very confident I can overhaul and put my motor back together and it really just seems easy to remember thanks for all your videos 😁
By far the best detailed videos on BMW's, i plan on having a s54 swapped e46 later and this is perfect to know. Great job and thank you
Same here! I want an S54 wagon!
an S54 wagon would be sweet!
+Johnny D Legend I know!
Wow!!. I am your student. I shall try to learn all. You are amazing, seriously. You've taught this old dog a few tricks. I had no idea an e46 was such a nightmare. Awesome car. I should of stuck to maybe walking. I will using your videos to help me get through the rough times when working on my car. again a million thanks. Thanks for all you do..
cheers.
Hahaha and I appreciate the kind words, if you have any questions or what not feel free to contact me. Thanks!
Great Video series! And congratulations to a gf which shares your passion and helped you filming
funny thing i just watched part 1 two hrs ago and now you uploaded part 2 today
*Illuminati confirmed!*
Yes! Another great video, even a very funny spot too. Good camera work! You guys are a great team. I need to replace my CCV soon but I'm a bit nervous about lifting the intake off. This vid will definitely help. Thanks guys for all your videos, keep the E46 love alive !!
You do not necessarily have to remove the intake manifold to do the ccv, although it does make it easier. My advice is to get the ccv kit with new hoses and then just break all of the old hoses and remove the old ccv.
can i ask you please about the coolant lines underneath the intake ..
i think its mandatory to remove it,
i started my engine frozen ice inside since i had drinking water inside the engine ,i ende up with one or both coolant hoses broken
thx 4 gr8 video
Great video, thank you. I’m facing an engine loom replacement on an M54B30 and was dreading it. Great to have this video to refer to!
I love that you have that series for an M54! Needed it!
that guy is a beast!
Damn, I love ya, doing intake ultrasonic clean and wanted to put all the wires, tubes etc into the right clips. This just helps a lot. THANKS!
Lol a bit after 14:30 "these are 11mm nuts, not that big."
Good work kid, keep em coming!
About to buy an e46. Being a domestic V8 guy it’s good to know I can use a pry bar on their engines as well.
Great video bro!!! I'm using this as a guide for my e46 323i!
Really enjoyed this video, funny stuff and very informative.
Great video! The perfect tutorial. Totally gonna use this when i'll swap to m54. You are really talented, keep un the good work and keep the videos flowing!. Subscribed :D
that 260z would be a perfect candidate for a BMW inline six engine swap.
Rb swap is miles better for a Z car from those years tbh.
Plus its been done so many times you can mostly buy a swap kit for it. But a m54 or N54 swap would be awesome simply becuase it's never been done
I prefer to stick with something nissan, I am not sure exactly what yet, but may be a vq35hr or a vk45, not sure. I might even change my mind on the stock engine and do something with it. First I need to restore the body, then I will decide on everything else haha
Outstanding video. Thank you so much!
I have two questions.
first: are you putting the engine back in a e46?
second: if so, can you do a wire tuck tutorial?
Amazing video ! It´s helping me a lot. Can you tell me which connector is that at 4:18 ? Mine is disconnected and I have no idea to which system it belongs.
4.19 - i just want to ask. just above the vacuum line on side of the intake manifold there's a connector with 2 wires. what is the connector for? is it a sensor or what. 😅. thanks
Was wondering the same thing, my intake manifold doesn't have anywhere for the plug to go into and the plug itself is blanked off so I'm a bit confused
@@urvakhshsidhwa914 its for the secondary air pump, some countries don't require them to pass emissions
You two are funny good video you showed me the part that was missing on the manifold. can you tell me because my intake air temperature sensor is missing and what affect it will have on my car by it missing, my car starts but struggles to stay running and it sound like there’s a lot of air coming out of somewhere around the manifold I have 05 325i I have the put a new disa a idle control valve new intake hoses plz help
My breakfast tomorrow will be.... Toast with Nuts! Yummi! :D Thank you for this. And the Video(s).
Good job. Job..., got it?! ;)
So is this vehicle motor your working on same exact one as my 2006 X5 E53 3.0i M54B30? I'm doing few tasks as well and thank you for doing videos like this here breaking down the entire engine. I just need a garage of my own now lol
Your awesome my friend
what’s that black and white round piece connector that’s behind the intake manifold connected to 2 vac lines? i lost mine and i can’t find a part number to replace it 🤦🏽♂️ please help!
Hey quick question can I change the engine wiring harnesses without taking the motor out of the car
Hi
What is the purpose of that black canister thing with a vacuum line going into the back of the intake?
Thanks
How much power would M54 handle if i turbocharged it ? i mean, how much the stock internals can handle on low boost ( safeboost ) for the engine but still make some power ?
Thanks dude! that helped a lot
what doest the distribution piece... i have one pin that goes into the manifold broken and that cause a vacum leak and im trying to tapi it of ...and dont know is this will cause any damage or ...
I have a question, can I remove and replace the injectors leaving the engine inside the car , I mean without taking it out from the frame?
InsaneWorld Compilations yes you can.
Watch the first video. He explains how the fuel rail and injectors are right on top under first vanity plate
fantastic video, thank you
What a great video ilyas from mumbai
I have a bmw 328i 2000 5 speed can I get a other engine but from an automatic transmission and put it in my 5 speed or how does it work
Ok I have questions, my e46 has two fuel lines that were connected to the fuel rail, and it also has an air line on the fuel rail,
So when putting back this fuel hose, does it meter where you connect them? Or they go on specific pipe from fuel rail?
And the other question, the air pipe that is on my fuel rail, I know the end of the pipe towards the front of the car connects to the ccv hose, but the other end of the pipe facing the firewall of the car, where does that connects to?
I will appreciate if you can help.
There is a specific orientation for the hoses, what year and model is it? Do you have a black and blue striped vacuum hose coming out of the firewall?
ShopLifeTV it's 1999 323i and yes it does have a blue end and a black end
Is this all still the same on a 02 wagon 5 speed. ?
How much would you charge to dismantle an engine like you're doing like about the price range
14:10...thats what she said
You 2 are hilarious
Where does the leftmost wire on the DISA valve plug in?(handled at 2:03) Been trying to find it and it's driving me insane, someone please throw me a line :(
Right I hope someone can help me I bought a cheap 330ci as a project as I’m normally more into the diesels but anyway there is a 9 pin dsub wire in the engine bay not connect to anything. It seems to be coming from the somewhere near the intake manifold. I have no idea where it is supposed to live. I’ve spent a few days searching can’t find anything 😞
Yall gotta quit smoking weed. But seriously thanks man. I'm new to BMWs and I'm thinking about turboing one.
Don't
Cool ! Good job
this is just perfect. ty
Is that "Box/Canister" the charcoal canister?
No sir, the charcoal canister is at the passenger rear of the car. Right behind the wheel well.
Hi, at 4:20 you pull a connector off the intake manifold but you dont say what it is. ive been trying to find out for a while as mine is hanging loose! Please help!
ShopLifeTV Wow! vacuum control valve, that explains everything that's wrong with my car! Thanks man.
Is it the M54B25 or the M54B30 ?
How did you learn all of this? Do you have any website you would recommend? I'm planning on buying an e46 2,2 6 cylinders engine and I want to know everything about it. :)
Honestly, I learned mostly everything by just taking it apart and seeing how things worked. There are many resources though such as the forums that have well documented DIY's on many things. Look at bimmerforums and e46fanatics they are tons of resources throughout the BMW community, not so much on other cars though.
You the man
At 2:05 what wire is he holding? Please help!!!
great vid man! what is that at 6:07 ?
I think it is a "Vacuum Cannister." I think he mentioned it in part 1 :)
^ he's right, it is a vacuum canister.
Anyone know what the bigger hose is he moved at 4:15?
Ah..watched part one…that’s the hose from the upper hard coolant hose to the heater valve.
Your shop place in Alhambra? Thanks
Yes it is in alhambra
@@ShopLifeTV what is the address
How can i start this kind of business 🤔
Made video like that diesel engine with all his part
Where part 3?
this is an M52TU, not an M54, but very similar
well he states it came from an 01 330 so it must be a m54b30
Pretty much tells me I’m not doing much work on my e46 without lifting entire engine out.... fuck.
Godbless. Thanks for your help . I pray that you find jesus. And that your life may be more abundantly. :)
