This was the last Kirby game that wasn't directed by Shinya Kumazaki, who has been doing each Kirby game since Return to Dreamland (except this one, of course).

I just don't like when they introduce a Kirby game without copy abilities.... it takes away from the whole point of his character since 1992.

Canvas Curse was literally the same spin-off and they still had abilities in the game.... it's not a true Kirby game, spin-off or not. I'll say the same for Epic Yarn (which, by the way, wasn't originally a Kirby game to begin with).
